Can I just mention now that I have " lightened up" , that I have heard Richard play a couple of times in the afternoon at Blackpool when he is lets say in a more self indulgent mood and plays from his own "taste" rather than plays to please a crowd of 2000 , although the floor is thin the music he plays is pure underplayed bliss to hear he has proved to me and and I would guess many others that he has many strings ( genres , tempo's) to his style of play.
Now would he fit in at one of your upfront nighters .... I don't know ? , but to sort of give the impression that he can only do "overplayed oldies' as someone did earlier in this discussion is absolute rubbish and shows that persons ignorance in the highest order.
