  1. Thanks mate - I see what you mean about the label design! I'll give it a listen when I get home from work.....
  2. Didn't know about this one Pete!
  3. I agree with the idea of a Jackie Day tribute. How about a 4-track EP of her stuff as a tribute, in a nice pic sleeve (perhaps similar to the Aussie W&G EP sleeve).........and would there be space for "Naughty Boy"?
  4. The moment in time I'd like to revisit is the time I saw "You Really Made It Good To Me" by Ty Karim in a sales box at the 100 Club for £25! Only now, I'd buy it!
  5. Oh Pretty Woman - Roy Orbison
  6. Is that the version released on a US MGM 45 Pete?
  7. Always loved "I've Got To Face It", though the vocals are a little "hoarse"!
  8. Don't even think about skimming it, or using ANY spirit on it! I use dilute bleach to get the crap out of some of my records, and it really does work a treat (contrary to cynical belief). I have also used it on acetate, with exactly the same results! Bleach doesn't corrode acetate like spirit does - it gets all ground-in crap out of the grooves, and the resultant sound quality is so much cleaner. If it doesn't clear the noise, then you'll know it's caused by scratches and general wear & tear, in which case there's nothing that can be done to get rid of it. I'd experiment with a junk acetate first before hitting George Smith with bleach................
  9. Lily Allen - Littlest Things (UK Regal 7")
  10. This is Chico's new LP under his new stage name..................
  11. "Smokin'"
  12. You should be able to claim through PayPal, but check this out first: www.paypalsucks.com/ If they try to wash their hands of it, the Financial Ombudsman should be able to help kick their arses to follow up the investigation properly. PayPal have a terrible reputation of forever trying to take the easy way out of claims.
  13. You mean the "dub" side? Seriously, the flip side "Space Mood" must be the earliest example of dub, as it's the instrumental of "Walkin' By" with a few electronic extras!
  14. That's right - remained something like an £80 record until the early '90s, when a batch of 'em turned up.
  15. After realising it was on the Tuna label, I realised there was something fishy about the whole thing!
  16. Mike Terry couldn't put a foot wrong in whatever he had involvement with IMO! Agree with Martin - I've always loved it.
  17. Reminds me of Rick Jones in Fingerbobs when I was a kid........and yes, I think I can still remember them all!
  18. Was reportedly a song dedicated to his girlfriend who had a compulsive habit of picking her nose..............
  19. But records give you longer-lasting pleasure - and you won't catch any nasty diseases off them!
  20. Got a copy of the "Here Come The Flinstones" EP on UK HBR for a modest price Ken...........yes, I'm serious!
  21. I'm just a humble bloke, so I'll say........Tri-Sound?
  22. Is that on UK Pama or US American Arts Pete? :fool:
  23. Something like "Ten Good Reasons Why I Love You" by any chance?
  24. FIngertips (Part 2) - Little Stevie Wonder - "Hows about it there, let's hear it for Little Stevie Wonder.................hang about there Stevie"!
  25. Nowt to do with soul, but in "Young Guns Go For It" by Wham, Andrew Ridgeley addresses George Michael in the opening line with "Hey Sucker". He didn't realise just how close he was to the truth!
