  1. Sorry to tell you Tone, but this starts off with "Daddy came home from work tired, His boss had been driving him mad"! Offers on a Mint UK Palette original in sleeve??????
  2. Seen it anywhere between £300 and £500 on Bronze.

Was it subtitled "A-Uno, Dos, Uno Dos Tres Quatro" then? I do love that count in - and I'm sure it's been sampled many a time over the past decade on other things!
  4. And here's some of my opening line faves: GOSPEL CLASSICS: More Love, That's What We Need CLIFF NOBLES: My Love Is Getting Stronger VINCE APOLLO: I Bear Witness DARRELL BANKS: Our Love Is In The Pocket FRANK LYNDON: Don't Go Away Baby
  5. Cheers mate - hear from you soon.
  6. May take you up on that if you don't mind - I'll play you the one I've got on tape in return (when I can find it). I always maintained that if it was a cleaner cut, then I would be more than happy to have one myself. Truth be told, it's still a good record!
  7. There must be - the one I heard in 1991 starts off with four solitary drum beats, and then goes into the "There's a girl I really want to meet". That was also on Ultra Class (yellow label). Would be keen to know if there is another version of it. The one I've heard is a really messy production. I remember it for the line which sounds like "She's not skinny, she's not fat, she shaved my p***s, and I like that"! I've been advised he actually says "She's shaped like Venus", but I beg to differ!
  8. Thought this started off "There's a girl I really want to meet....." ?

Rose Valentine Dorothy Berry Holly(hock) Maxwell Jimmy Bo Thorne And: Sandy Wynns: A Touch Of Venus Fly-trap Mary Love: You Turned My Bitter Into Sweet-Peas Martha & THe Vandellas: Forget Me Not The Sequins: Acacia Love
  11. Possibly.............especially when you spell Lana backwards!
  12. Best reminder at 16 was "Echo Beach" by Martha & The Muffins

    Completely agree Ian!
  14. Think it was originally covered up as The Magicians.
  15. Which also has its place in music history Pete. Alvin Stardust liked the intro so much, he used it on "My Coo-Ca-Choo"!
  16. I'd take a safe guess at £50 for an issue, and £80+ for a demo.
  17. Yes - it has been said that it is. Macca bought it off John Duff Lowe (another member of the Quarrymen) about 15 years ago for an "undisclosed sum". Probably wouldn't fit into this category though - it's a 10" 78 RPM acetate.

Pete's successfully ironed a record (as he's said here and in a previous thread), but I prefer to stick to the old "if it ain't broke don't fix it" addage. If dished records play OK, best to leave them as they are, rather than risk damaging them further. Removing warps of any kind is a very touch-and-go process.
  19. Here y'are then................courtesy of Popsike.
  20. Nick Brown has (or had) the "World" misprint with exactly the same run-out (ie, about 5 revs worth of groove). He bought this in 1989. Definite original demo IMO.

With the influence such "R&B" has on today's youngsters, it probably stands for Robbin' & Burglin'. It is a bloody nerve that this should be termed R&B. It's NOT rhythm, and it's definitely NOT blues! It's not even original any more - how many tracks can you spot that have sampled other artistes' backing tracks? The chavs who lack total musical talent, who think they can string a few words together to make a four-letter word rhyme about blasting their mates' brains out with a shooter, should be forced to give up the R&B term - THEY DON'T DESERVE IT!

That's interesting Mark - yours is a defo original. Wonder if they all have RE scratched into the run-out? And where's John when you need him! Curioser and curioser, as Alice said............................

My own copy Mark! Although I did hear an inkling a year ago that it was legit (can't remember where though - may have been a forum topic here).

The black print copies are second issues (as far as I'm aware). The matrix will have 'RE' scratched in after the number. If truth be told, I'm led to believe that these are legitimate US second issues taken from the original stamper.

No point - PayPal customer services don't give a shit about their customer concerns.
