  1. Thought so - I asked for a discount and he told me to BOGOF! Only kidding Pete..........really!
  2. Would be lovely to see a pic of the Lost Soul, if ever you turn one up whilst collecting Raven!
  3. One clue which will help you find out is to look at the outer ridge of the label. Is there something like a 1/4" overlap of label over the ridge? If so, you can bet your bottom dollar that it is a boot.
  4. Yes - he obviously couldn't spell POOP!
  5. Was it issued with a BF number in 1967?
  6. I have always condemned the exploitative sampling of someone's backing track for someone else's untalented rap or lyric writing, and that includes the non-talents of Frank Poop. So when can we expect to hear "Rockefeller Skank" by Fatboy Slim being played at a Northern nite? Bet the Soul Communicators, Edward Hamilton, Detroit Land Apples et al haven't earned any royalties on the success of these records either. If he were to release another single that got nationwide plays at Northern events, I won't waste time buying it. About as much finesse and Northern Soul content as a dog shitting on the kerb. On a lighter note - Bearsy, this one's for your dad.........................
  7. Not to mention that nine times out of ten, the sound quality was diabolical. But that was always dependent on the quality of the source (ie, if it was off a crap quality tape, you got the same crap quality cut on to acetate).
  8. Yes you can!
  9. Thanks should be given to the freelancers who provide these articles (without name dropping Nick Brown ) - not necessarily RC themselves!
  10. Easily £600 for a mint Hyperions, and maybe £800 for the "Why You Wannt Treat Me Like You Do" misprint.
  11. Great Pete! Can you sell me a cheap copy?
  12. There are a couple of soul instrumental B-sides from the '60s which sound like early incarnations of dub (ie, where the instrumental track has been distorted to the point of sound effects, echo, reverb etc). They are: The Earthmen: Space Mood (instrumental B-side of "Walkin' By" - Boss Four) Rex Garvin & The Mighty Cravens: Sock It To 'Em JB, Part Two They sound absolutely brilliant at full blast on a powerful set of headphones! Does anyone know of any other soul/dub instrumentals? Obviously, straight instrumental cuts don't count here!
  13. The yellow ones do play better and they are the ones to go for. Avoid the pink styrene boots, as they omit the original slow build-up intro, and instead edit the last intro bar three times over to replace it. Those who know and love Burning Sensation for what it really is will agree that the results are pretty dire (shite). I would still say that the yellow ones are just as booty as the pink ones though. The other side "I Have Searched" is good if you like blue-eyed doo-wop.
  14. Sean - I make you right on that one. I remember seeing this on Tim Brown's list in January 1990, and believe that it went to Pat Brady at the time.
  15. Perhaps it's worth mentioning that Cajun Hart's next single release was a cover of Napoleon XIV's "They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha Ha"! How about that line from Girl I Love You by The Temptones - "At first I thought she was a lavatory seat"?
  16. Just PM'd you Arnie..............
  17. Thought that would make ya laugh mate!
  18. Has the label been cut out of a pair of army camoflauge Y-fronts?
  19. Another bump - some more items sold or held.
  20. The Majestics - (I Love Her So Much) It Huts Me: Linda Rampart (as David & Ruben) Warner Bros (as David & Ruben)
  21. Got it on a CD Mischief - I'll try and post it up later when I get home from work. PS - Good to finally meet you last weekend!
  22. Drifting Of Shore is a track I've been playing quite a bit of over the past year or so. Had my copy for about 8 years now ($10 well spent I'd say!), but it's too good to sell on just yet!
  23. Totally agree Ted - "Baby I'm Sorry" is absolutely brilliant!
  24. Judging by the lyrics, I thought it was a song about a "pretty coloured skinhead"......
  25. Bump - a few items gone, many left..................
