  1. Was that not the Mexican issue on Turbo?
  2. Hi Lenny, All boots have "When I'm With My Baby" printed in a slightly different typeface to "Count The Days", almost covering the "Webb-McCord" print on top of the label - looks like it has been re-typed to make it fit or something. Boots also have the distinctive bevelled edge. Gene
  3. "Come See What's Left Of Me" - Geni Talwart and the Inflamations
  4. Yes you're right - Nathan does, in general, send to the UK, but probably draws the line on 78s because of fragility and cost of P&P. I've bought from Nathan in the past and found him to be a great guy to deal with. His personal Emails always end with "Have a blessed day in Jesus's name"!
  5. Pity Nathan only sends 78s to the USA! If anyone has a spare original US 45 or 78 of "Good Rockin' Daddy" by Etta James, please PM me!
  6. Price of place in my living room is my home turntable, an original Garrard 4HF (pictured below). All my records are played on this - 50s/60s US 45s and UK/US 78s sound gorgeous on this too! It's wired with a modern Audio Technica cartridge (with a separate stylus for 78s), so the sound quality is outstanding. These were in production between 1957 and 1965, so I'm at a loss to positively date mine. They were also sent to Jamaica from the late 50s onwards for sound system use. To this day, some sounds still use them, namely Jah Shaka for one.
  7. Hi Kev, Hope you're well. Don't think this came out on 78 with it being released as late as 1960. Gene
  8. Bump - all still available!

  10. Yes - "Play the Part Of A Fool" by The Embers - also being played by Keb around early 1983.
  11. NIce find Pete - awesome record! Though I thought it was a lot earlier than 1968!
  12. If that's the case, buy up his UK Pye releases now - they'll be worth a mint on the soul scene!
  13. He drove the fastest milk cart in the West..................
  14. Had a couple of freeloaders try that on me over the years too - one was in this country! And it's true - when I told them I'd refund them on receipt back of the record, do you think any tosser bothered to return them? Best thing to do - offer a refund on return of the package but, at the same time, block them from bidding on your future auctions by using Ebay's blocked bidder list. And if he leaves you a neg, then retaliate. Also say in your negative feedback that he is now blocked - that really hurts them.
  15. I'd take a safe guess at around £5K.
  16. "Right Said Fred" by the same man is an absolute stomper. Was UK'd on red Parlophone - anyone want a Mint one for £20? Bargain.............
  17. Lansdowne Studios, better known for jazz, also released UK produced ska on Columbia in 1964 - two singles and an EP by Ezz Reco & the Launchers. One of these, a cover of Jimmy Cliff's "King Of Kings" was a UK Top 50 hit. Guess it was the first UK produced ska/reggae single to enter the UK charts, or even the only single to enter the UK charts which starts off with the sound effect of a stomach rumbling!
  18. Air Mail from the USA shouldn't take more than a week, Simon. Surface mail - you're looking at anything up to 3 months!
  19. No more than £20 if it's a boot. But I'll make you a happy man and offer you £30 for your honesty Rob!
  20. I would say that the two dearerst boots are the Yum Yums lookalike from 1975 on ABC-Paramount, or any of the coloured vinyl 'demos' of I Never Knew by Eddie Foster.
  21. Safe bet is more likely between £10 - £15. It's not a boot; it was legally reissued by Columbia in the USA, around the same time they reissued Lynne Randell, Bobby Diamond, Taj Mahal, Vibrations, Lou Edwards etc (they're all matrix stamped).
  22. UK issue - CBS US issue - Epic 70s reissue - Columbia Special Products (CSP) The British demo/issue is the rarer one, though not entirely sure what either of them go for.
  23. Isn't the instrumental of Is It All Gone actually issued as the B-side to Double Cookin', and called A Day In Sausalito?
  24. If you bought if off one of those looky-looky blokes whilst on holiday in the Med, then it's definitely a boot!
  25. He was obviously a MFSB with taste!
