  3. Was also used on a Guinness advert a few years ago!
  4. What's the Lee Fields track?
  5. Been having a sort through my collection, and it struck me just how many records there are out there which you can get for less than £20, which are top-quality soul records, and should be given the reactivation they deserve. We’ve had a few “cheap as chips” threads over the years, so allow me to reactivate it with a few more under-£20 finds. THE CRAMPTON SISTERS: I Didn’t Know What Time It Was (DCP) THE EMOTIONS: I Can’t Stand No More Heartaches (Brainstorm) THE YOUNG FOLK: Lonely Girl (Mar-V-Lus) RON MURPHY: Hollow Man (20th Century) THE IMPALAS: Whip It On Me (Bunky) THE FAWNS: Nothing But Love Can Save Me (Cap City) RICK & FLOYD: Baby You Got Me Going (Lasco) Let’s hear about some more – over to you!
  6. I'm sure that Problems by Desmond Dekker (the B-side of It Miek) has the same backing track as Ken Parker.

Sorry to hear about this Katie - thanks for the tip-off about him. Now blocked this bidder from my auctions. Not to mention that his spoilt child attitude stinks; "I won, I want".
  8. Here y'are - feel free to make me a sensible offer.........
  9. The boot demos all sound like they were recorded off a transistor radio. AVOID!
  10. Cheers guys - now sorted!
  11. I'm looking for a copy of "This Magic Moment" by The Drifters on UK London. Of all their chart hits during the '60s, this is the only one missing from my collection. The last copy I saw on sale was 15 years ago, and that had a warp so I decided against it. Min condition accepted; VG+ (as long as the price is right). Cheers, Gene
  12. Once heard a rumour that a top Northern Soul DJ of his time offered his car in exchange for a copy of “At The Discotheque” by Chubby Checker! Is it true? Who was the DJ? Was the car roadworthy?
  13. Sounds very much like a bullshiner.....
  14. Here ya go hun..............
  15. Not come across one of these before, but I'd say it would bring the value down by at least 25%.
  16. Think it's a different recording of the same song Boba.
  17. I've always been confused regarding the situation of the promo release of Kenard's "What Did You Gain By That?/My Garden Of Eden" on Dore. I know that the double-sided demos with the same track each side are definitely original, but what about the dark-green label ones with My Garden Of Eden on the flip-side? My belief is that it is a legitimate early '70s pressing by Dore. Like some other Dore releases from the '60s, it goes a shade of mottled brown when held up to the light. The top side has a delta matrix dating it from 1970, and the B-side's delta matrix dates that side from 1966. It has a bevelled edge, but I feel that this is a 'red-herring' when trying to pin a re-issue tag on it. Sounds like it has all the makings of a legal Dore press. Anyone know about its origins, and when it was likely to have dated from? Gene
  18. Hi Harry, Apparently withdrawn and destroyed due to 'contractual difficulties'. Funnily enough, JM has one for auction on his page at the mo: https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/auction/all-auction
  19. Both sides of this are excellent - a bargain at the price too!
  20. Looks lovely - you almost made me cry when you said you just snapped it! First and ONLY issue I've seen in 26 years!
  21. Hope for a lottery win this weekend - maybe I'll be able to bid for the Donna King then!
  22. Barrett Strong - You Knows What To Do/Yes,No, Maybe So - Gold Anna - £8.00 "You Knows What To Do" is an excellent and sorely underrated Soul/R&B dancer which I've just started playing. Someone buy this bargain now at a quarter of the going rate - you won't be disappointed!
  23. Hi Ady, Thanks for posting that - bloody 'ell! Never knew an issue existed. Now that must be ultra-scarce!
  24. Cheers Pete! Would the Eddie Regan have been done around the same time?
