  1. Tony's right - they do exist, and were apparently recorded/released in 1973. 'Dreaming Of You' has even appeared on serious CD comps. If you didn't know it was by the Five Shits, it could easily pass as an early '60s white male vocal group cut.
  2. Wish I could afford either of the copies on auction...........awesome!
  3. Yep - https://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-Northern-Soul-Pee...id=p3286.c0.m14
  4. Final bump - auction closes 9pm on Friday 8th.
  5. Superlove - David & The Giants
  6. Daily bump - and another bid. Come on, don't be shy!!!!
  7. Deserted - The Toys
  8. Charge! - Strings & Things
  9. It's also possible that this was cut with a view to be covered in the UK by a British artist. I once had an original Belinda acetate of "Let's Go Somewhere" by R. Dean Taylor (which wasn't released here until 1974), and I'm led to believe that it was cut for the likes of David Garrick or Beryl Marsden to get some idea how to cover it. Both these cover versions were released in the UK in 1966.
  10. Bump - one bid received.....
  11. Pics now added............
  12. The following items are up for bids. I'll be taking REASONABLE bids until 9pm on Friday 8 August, and will notify any winning bidders by PM. PLEASE BID BY SENDING ME A PM - thanks! LUTHER INGRAM: If It's All The Same To You Babe/Exus Trek (HIB - Green label, styrene press) VG-/G+ Now here's the run-down on this: "If It's All The Same To You Babe" plays with dulled background hiss throughout. It's not enough to drown out the music, which overpowers any noise. I've played this side out for about 6 years now, and it sounds fine played on a DJ system. "Exus Trek" starts off with 3 seconds of cue burn, but plays perfectly from then on. THE YUM YUMS: Gonna Be A Big Thing/Looky Looky (What I Got) (ABC Paramount LOOKALIKE DEMO) EX. This is from the batch of reissues from the mid-70s which were passed off as genuine demos. CURRENT BID: £40 MAJOR LANCE: You Don't Want Me No More (Okeh - 1972 styrene press; small '45 RPM') EX Pressed from the original masters and with a stamped matrix number. CURRENT BID: £30 RUFUS WOOD: Before 2001 (Espanola - 70s issue; black lettering) EX+ Once again, pressed from the original masters. CURRENT BID: £45 IRMA THOMAS: Don't Mess With My Man (UK Sue) MINT- How often does this turn up, especially in this condition?
  13. Reminds me of the care you have to take when taking pics of household items when intending to advertise them on Ebay. ebaynude.bmp

  19. In 1983, I was in a record shop going through their soul box. There was "Stronger Than Her Love" by The Flirtations on Festival demo for £1. Knowing it was booted, I put it back down and didn't bother with it. Next guy who looked at the box after me picked it up and, as I saw him take it out of the sleeve, realised I'd just put the original back in the box! 12 years later, I bought "Dr Truelove" by Bobby Lou & Betty Adams on Trax in a shop in Camden for £15. A couple of days later I sold it to someone via Pete Smith for £125. Now look at what it sells for! :D
  20. My best boot fair finds (UK issues unless stated) over the past 10 years (soul and non-soul), and all for under £1 each are: SOUL CITY: Everybody Dance Now (Cameo Parkway DEMO) SHORTY & THEM: Pills or Love's Labour's Lost (Fontana) VARIOUS ARTISTS: Kent Rocks (UK White Witch LP - books at £180!) MARVIN GAYE/TAMMI TERRELL: You Ain't Livin' 'Til You're Lovin' (Tamla Motown G/W DEMO) PRINCE BUSTER: Everybody Ska (Stateside) FOUNDATIONS: Change My Life (Psycho) THE PIPS: Every Beat Of My Heart (Top Rank) DAMNED: Love Song (Dodgy Demo) PRINCE BUSTER: Too Hot (Blue Beat) SLADE: Know Who You Are (Polydor - books at £150!) THE TENNORS: Sign Of The Time (JAMAICAN Down Beat white label 45) SUPREMES: Love Is Like An Itching In My Heart (Tamla Motown) SUPREMES: Nothing But Heartaches (Tamla Motown) JR. WALKER: Tune Up (US Soul 45) OTIS REDDING: Pain In My Heart (Atlantic LP - purple label) THE WRIGGLERS: The Cooler (Giant) There are more, but can't think of them all!
  21. Came out in the UK around 1975. Can't believe that Brunswick even cocked up the original year of release by 4 years on the UK issue!
  22. Shameless plug I know, but I've got Ben Aiken's version of "You Were Meant To Be My Baby" and "Don't Mess With Me" by Mike & The Censations on my sales list in the sales form at the mo!
  23. Looks like there's hope for me then!
  24. I also love the flip-side of this, "Crying In The Rain". Should be played
