    Zavvi

Sad news about Zavvi - it was one of only two places (the other being HMV itself) that I could rely on for current 7" vinyl releases.
  5. Which must make a minter around £600 - £800.
  6. Super Bad is an appropriate description for the rest of K-Tel's output!
  7. Hope you and Di have an excellent Christmas Harry! You too Bearsy! Gene
  8. Born To Be Alive falls into the same category as records like "Got A Feeling" or "I Love America" by Patrick Juvet - Europop which, whilst good at the time, come over as cheesy by today's standards.
  9. From memory, here are the main features that give the Jeanette Williams boots away: - the label is a rough matt finish - the vinyl is thin, maybe quite bendy - all boots are apparently pressed off centre
  10. Just so happens to be my all-time fave for the past 26 years Mike! What a lovely note from Russ - such a shame Arthur died at such an early age. Please pass my personal thanks to Russ when you chat to him - and I really mean that. Gene
  11. The Linda release was the first release (Majestics), and, according to the Delta matrix, dates from around Sept 1965. David & Ruben on Rampart is a 1969 release, and appears to use the same stampers that were used for the Linda release three years prior to this. The Warner Bros release also dates from 1969 (which for some strange reason omits the excellent horn intro).
  12. Another bump - items still selling!!!
  13. Hi Ady, I bought a red vinyl copy in January 2001 (on Ebay, but can't remember the seller). Was $40 at the time. Unfortunately I moved it on a couple of years ago, so can't supply a scan. Gene
  14. His previous feedback was excellent, so something must be wrong. Let's just hope it's nothing at all serious.
  15. Final bump for the weekend!
  16. Des Parker has the original one-sided Dick Charles Studios acetate of this.
  17. Some prices now reduced.....................
  18. I don't end auctions early. However, there are five main reasons why I will cancel a bid: - The bidder has ZERO feedback. - The bidder has a bad feedback record - The bidder is rude when it comes to leaving feedback, rather than return the record for a refund. - The bidder shows any signs of being a troublemaker in their feedback - The bidder is a stamp collector (true, as I've had two stamp collectors who think they're an authority on P&P costs. Plus they're arrogant and rude with it). I will always give reasons such as the above when cancelling their bids.
  19. Bump - thanks to all who have bought so far!

  21. I never respond to wants list here, or on any forum or ad - too many freeloaders who want (as Di said) a £200 record for peanuts. So I'd rather do set sale than be insulted. Before I get shot down in flames, that's not to say that all wants posts are by freeloaders, so please take note folks!
  22. ....or one of Fats 'Dominos'?
  23. I'd rather stcik with an original
  24. (I Love Her So Much) by The Majestics played 3 times (total time, 9 mins 55 secs)
  25. If it's playable with no jumps or skips, it wouldn't be unfair if it ended around £500 - after all, how often do you see an original Salvadors in ANY condition?
