  1. I guess £9.99 isn't bad then Pete!
  2. Unsurprisingly - awesome price for an excellent record!
  3. Wasn't it covered up as Amyl & The Nitrates?
  4. Some more price reductions. Last time for these being bumped before my collection goes on sale here in Feb.
  5. Sorry Tony - I stand corrected! For some reason, I thought the Oscar Wright and Frankie Brunson 45s dated from '63. Thanks for that - helps put me right.
  6. The 'arch' design Fairmount label was legitimately in use, but not post-1963.
  7. King Kong in flares?
  8. Surprised that a record that blatantly deals with under-age sex relationships even still gets played 41 years after its release!
  9. Well, you never know Bearsy! May still do the odd bit here and there with some lesser-known bits (or even come and plug my IPod in! ). Keep in touch........ Gene
  10. Thanks for the very kind words Mark. Like yourself, I'm sure I'll still buy the odd tune here and there after the majority have sold. Even after selling, the music will never be out of my bloodstream - certainly not after 27 years! I'll still be able to listen to the sounds at home, so not all will be lost. But who knows? Perhaps I should keep buying the lottery tickets and be ever hopeful! Gene
  11. IMPORTANT UPDATE - PLEASE NOTE: My auction of rarer items from my collection will now be posted in the Sales section at 9pm on Monday19th January. The auction will close on Tuesday 3rd February at 9pm, and all winning bidders will be notified by PM. Set sale listings will appear from the night of Monday 2nd February. However, I have an advance list now available on a Word document. Anyone wanting a copy, please PM me. Thanks, Gene
  12. Actually Jo, I'm sure he did! The verse that Bill Haley amended to comply with good taste was originally: You wear those dresses, the sun comes shinin' through, You wear those dresses, the sun comes shinin' though, I can't believe all that mess belongs to you........ Pretty sure that's how it went. The 'one eyed cat' line was overlooked for some reason!
  13. Good morning Jo, Thanks for the nice message! Have a great new year, and hope to catch up with you very soon. All the best, Gene and Elaine xxx
  14. Few more items added at the weekend....................
  15. Update - more added!
  16. Thanks Dave - glad you like!
  17. Hi Pete, The Give-A-Disc record label was owned by Robert Stigwood (note the Reaction logo on the label!). The records, complete with the magazine, will sell for around £12 - £15, but only about £4 on their own. One or two of the artists were ex-Joe Meek acts (well, Stigwood nicked a few acts from Meek). Grazina (real name Grazina Frame) also recorded three singles on HMV under Stigwood's production; one of these appearing to be a cover version of "Be My Baby". She also acted alongside Joe Brown in "What A Crazy World". I've only got one of the Give-A-Discs; "All My Loving" by Sir Hubert Pattison. Ignore the artist's name, it's actually quite a good Beatles' cover version! Gene
  18. Final bump on this lot before they go to Battersea Dogs Home charity shop................
  19. This must surely be worth double - what a tune and how often do you see it? Got to be up there with the true rarest of the rare!
  20. Didn't think that name dropper had any other friends other than Michael Jackson!
  21. And is it really worth a w*nk?
  22. All covers from here are replicas, and not original.
  23. Hi Dave, PM me your Email address and I'll get it sorted when I get home from work later. Cheers, Gene
  24. Bump - most prices now reduced!
  25. Elaine (my better half) was born on the 12th October 1967, a Thursday. Just the day after, on Friday the 13th October (!), two key soul releases and one pop one were issued: UK THE INCREDIBLES: There's Nothing Else To Say (Stateside) THE TROGGS: Love Is All Around (Page One) US DERC HOTZOG: Church Going Girl (Hamilton) Not bad for Friday 13th releases!
