  5. I could be wrong, but I thought Danny Everard used to play this covered up as "It May Be Over For You" by Bobby Paris.........or am I thinking of an entirely different record?
  6. Cor.............does that mean I'll be able to play 4 records at the same time?
  7. Awesome record - only ever heard it on a a Keb tape from 1986.
  8. I'd say £3 each, in view of their condition, is about right.
  9. Just a reminder that the auction closes in 10 days. Bids on two items.
  10. My best find has to be whilst going through an American doo-wop list I received regularly 8 years ago. Whilst going through the list, the following caught my eye: TURBINES: We Got To Start Over. CENCO VG+ $10 I Emailed the dealer, half-expecting him to say that it had sold. But no! I got a reply saying it was available, and that it was held for me. Well, I sent off my money by post and two weeks later, received it. His VG+ was MINT minus! Anyway, to cut to the quick, I held on to it for a few years before parting with it for £800 trades, which included a mint Eddie Foster on IN, plus others. I've had some good luck in my time, but nothing to match this!
  11. What about labels such as Gamble or Triad? Seriously though, I heard something about Vee Jay, and the story that the mafia coerced them to record white artists, and this is how the label got to release records by the Four Seasons and The Beatles. Apparently, Vee Jay went bust after the owner was imprisoned for embezzlement - can anyone confirm the story?
  12. HIghest bid on David & Ruben now £340.
  13. Harry, David & Ruben has not received any bids yet. Minimum bids can be seen in the main post. Cheers, Gene
  14. Update - Wednesday 21 January: Admirations - Heaven Is In Your Arms. Current bid: £250
  15. Course I can Denbo - PM'd you!
  16. Cheeky bump for those who missed it last night! Unsold items will go on Ebay after the close of auction.

  18. Wasn't this played covered up as Welwyn Dowd?
  19. Denbo, is this the first issue? I've only known it on US Columbia or UK Philips. I've a VG+ copy on Philips if all else fails. Gene
  20. Apologies - the auction will now start on Monday 19th January at 9pm - have a lot on tonight!
  21. Update - auction will now appear from the night of Sunday 18th January (see original post)
  22. Bit of a teaser this one. The Lost Soul's Raven label has serial numbers prefixed HOS (standing for House of Sounds), but I notice this label's prefix is OOS - not a million miles from each other. The HOS Raven label is out of Danville, Virginia, but haven't a clue with this one. One look at the design of label makes me think Chicago for some reason.
  23. Not always the case Mischief - you won't believe some of the insulting offers I'd had on here for items which are bargain-priced anyway. Only a small minority of people I should stress though.
  24. Too many bloody freeloaders - make me sick they do.
  25. What about those people who bought "I'm Lonely" by Dan Brantley, expecting to get "Lonely For You Baby" by Sam Dees? I'm sure there are a few out there..........
