  1. Ah yes - it's up there now Denbo!
  2. SOUND CLIPS & SCANS ONLY: ITEMS RELISTED ON 26 MAY
  3. The Pink Elephant labels I've seen come from either The Netherlands or Turkey, and they've always been by Shocking Blue. Wonder if this is the same label (despite the "All Rights Reserved" around the label edge)? Pete??
  4. Does "Cant Turn Around" by Fork In The Road on Ember exist in any form?
  5. Would that suggest a Jan/Feb 1967 release? Thought it was actually about 1964!
  6. Thanks Dylan - sorry, couldn't resist!!
  7. I'll answer your question in two parts Dylan. 1. The record is OK - nothing ground-breaking for me though. 2. How can I say I like you when I don't even know you yet??
  8. I always thought this was a one-off, or one of two, but after seeing these three on Popsike, I'm baffled! Anyone know how many known copies there are (and maybe even who the lucky owners are)? https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...le&currency=
  9. Issued on green/silver label and orange label - so both are definite originals. Not booted as far as I know.
  10. Incidentally, the cuts of this on UK Duke and JA Barons are different. The UK version is the one to go for, as it has more backing. In both instances, it's the B-side of "Love I Tender" by Hugh Roy.
  11. Just been putting a CD together for a workmate, and I'm sure this is what they sang in: CANDY - The Astors "She's got lips so sweet Candy red, Honey bee And flies all around her head" YOU DIDN'T SAY A WORD - Yvonne Baker "That's when you came along, but what the f**k was wrong" MICKEY'S MONKEY - The Miracles "He's standing naked coming out of town" HAND IT OVER - Chuck Jackson "Hand it all over, I need a crap"
  12. Sounds like they've obvoiusly held firmly as well, and Super Glue probably isn't the best option.
  13. If truth be told, I'd rather have a dinked record than one with a transplanted centre. With the couple that I have had, the job had been done so badly that the prongs shone of Super Glue. One centre actually fell out after it had been in my DJ box for a few months.
  14. Good point Denbo. Even if one side aligns correctly, it doesn't always mean to say that the other side will, so there's that to be cautious about.
  15. Apart from the Columbia, Parlophone or HMV singles that have part of the 45 RPM logo on the centre Pete (see below)!
  16. Weren't they just the same as normal Capitol black label issues (the only difference being the printing of "Discotheque '66 Series" or "Discotheque '67 Series" on the label itself)? Of course, they'd all have the "Sold In UK Subject to Resale Price Conditions" legend printed on them.
  17. I'd say £50 on either a US or UK copy is a fair price these days.
  18. I bought a single from a UK dealer on Ebay a couple of years ago. Came in a flimsy brown paper envelope with a sleeveless copy of Public Image by PIL as a stiffener!
  19. A sponge bean slicer in the reggae section? Now, if it was a toaster, that would be appropriate!
  20. It's French, and will likely have been issued with a picture sleeve or art sleeve.
  21. Dave Penny posted this random listing in the 'Good Rockin' website: Paying tribute to the collectible Injun and Spade labels from the 1970s, owned by record dealers Trevor Egleton and Piers Chalmers from Sussex. 22. Hi Pete, I think Injun is a UK bootleg label for R&R. I do remember this label, and similar labels, in circulation in the mid to late '70s. You could pick up Injun releases from Moondogs in East London for around £1.25 each. Could well be the R&R equivalent of the Soul Sounds label.
  23. SOUL SET: Will You Ever Learn / Please Don't Make Me Cry (Bi-Me) THE SHOWMEN: You're Everything / Our Love Will Grow (Swan or UK Action) THE CAIROS: Don't Fight It / Stop Overlooking Me (Shrine) THE CHANDELIERS: Stop Dragging My Heart Around / Fading Day (Loadstone) BUD HARPER: Wherever You Were / Let It Rain (Peacock) THE SWEET: Got To Have More Love / You Can't Win At Love (Smash) MORRIS CHESTNUT: Too Darn Soulful / You Don't Love Me Anymore (Amy)
  24. You were lucky it wasn't a new record Pete!
  25. Very sad news. RIP Viola.
