  1. I believe their records were produced by someone called Sir Cumsize.
  2. You're not imagining it at all - it does exist! DAVID & THE FOUR SKINS: (Love Is Like A) Heatwave / Sweet Elaina (Breakaway 01) - if you want one, JM has a copy on his list for £20. Released in 1963 but, because of copyright issues, was pulled back........
  3. Would agree with you completely Trev.
  4. You're not kidding Paul - surprised no one's torn his arm off for it yet! If I was still collecting, I would have!
  5. So many records and so many memories! So here goes............ Tami Lynn - Run Away (aka 'You My Love') Dynamic Three - You Said Yeah (c/u as "She Said Yeah " - The Agents) Azie Mortimer - You Better Get Away (actually "Run Run" by a Swan group I can't remember) Buddy Smith - When You Lose The One You Love Gordon Keith - Look Ahead (c/u as "Look Ahead" by Maurice Williams) Ron Baxter - This Is It (c/u as "I'm Leaving You Now" by Vernon Garrett) Wendell Watts - Kiss A Good Thing Goodbye Out Of Sights - For The Rest of My Life Jackie Follett - I Am What I Am (c/u as "I Am What I Am" - Joyce Kennedy) George Jackson - That Lonely Night (c/u as "You Know You're Hurtin' Me So" - Otis Pollard) Andy Fisher - A Wee Bit Longer / My Heart's Beating Stronger (both sides covered as Earl Jackson) The Matadors - Say Yes Baby (c/u as "Say Yes" by The Chavis Brothers) Ain't Gonna Run - The Royal Esquires (c/u as "Play The Part Of A Fool" - The Embers) Why - Willie Mason & All the Kings Men (c/u as "I Wanna Know" - Lou Pride) The Empires - You're On Top Girl (c/u as "You're On Top Girl" by Johnny Cole) Royal Five - My Baby Cares For Me (c/u as "Open Your Eyes, I'll Be There" - The Fenways) The Buck Rogers Movement - Take It From Me Girl (c/u as "Take It From Me" - Trade Martin) The Chaumonts - Now You've Gone (c/u as Roscoe & Friends - can't remember title) Little Charles & The Sidewinders - It's A Heartache (c/u as "Watch Out For The Heartaches" - Sam Coltrane) Little John - Just Wait & See (c/u as "I'm The Only One" - Jimmy Raye) The Jackson Brothers - I've Gotta Hear It From You (c/u as "Somebody Told Me" - Rufus Lumley) Tony Galla - "In Love" (c/u as "Being In Love With You" - Winfield Parker) The Strands - The Breeze From The Trees Soul Set - Will You Ever Learn / Please Don't Make Me Cry H B Barnum - It Hurts Too Much To Cry (c/u as "It Hurts Too Much To Cry" - George Kennedy) Jesse Davis - Gonna Hang On In There Girl (c/u as "Hang On In There" - 'James' Vanelli. He actually announced it as James Vanelli, though I think a lot of people still call it the old Johnny Vanelli cover-up) The Venturas - Heart Of Love The Springers - Nothing's Too Good For My Baby (c/u as "My Baby" - Ron Banks) The Ebonies - You Got What I Want (c/u as "Baby You Know It" - The Chandlers) Bobby Sansom - The Happiest Day of My Life Can anyone help with a track he was playing around '86 called something like "Help Is On The Way"? Just looking for artist/title/label details, not the record itself!
  6. Don't take it personally, Pete - there are some good friends who are exceptions to that rule - nuff said!
  7. My personal scream fave is "I Put A Spell On You" by Screaming Jay Hawkins. Just screams all the way through - according to a sleeve note, Hawkins and his backing band were in an "advanced state of drunkenness" at the recording session!
  8. Just who was T E Records, or TERECORDS? The amount of records from the '60s I've seen with his rubber stamp on them, well I've lost count over the years! Any ideas, anyone?
  9. Not if there weren't any promo copies to begin with.............
  10. Being as they would have been issued within three years of each other, both would be classed as original. so what different with a UK 45 issued a few months after the US 45. Then, I guess, the terms UK OVO and US OVO would be appropriate.
  11. I know mate - was just using it as an excuse to post something else!!
  12. I hate defaced or written labels. Really brings down the value of a good soul record. Like the copy of "Hit & Run" I've seen - some idiot obviously bought it for her boyfriend and wrote "To Mike - love, Rose B " on it. Wouldn't give £10 for it in that condition. And that copy of Frank Wilson that has two names written on the label, yet sold for a high five-figure sum recently???? Beggars belief...........
  13. Being as they would have been issued within three years of each other, both would be classed as original. As a result of the OVO definition, perhaps these words could be added to the Oxford dictionary? Ovophobia - The insistance of playing bootlegs and 2nd issues. Ovophobe - one who practices the above. Ovophile - one who collects OVO and nothing else. Ovophilia - the art of being an ovophile. Ovomania - mental obsession with collecting original vinyl. Ovotherainbow - way up high.
  14. It Really Hurts Me Girl - The Carstairs Breakaway - Frank Popp Your Autumn of Tomorrow - The Crow ....oh, sorry. Thought it said Northern soul tunes that make you crap!
  15. Lonely For You Baby by Sam Dees was covered up as "I'm Lonely" by Dan Brantley. Confusing, because this also exists as a separate 45!
  16. "Gotta Find A New Love" by Willie & the Hand Jives on Veep.
  17. Apparently sung in Hebrew!
  18. Take it you live on the first floor then, Ken!
  19. I'm not here to do anyone any favours when it comes to selling records. I'll list them for what I f***ing want, take it or leave it. As I say, I don't sell records as a charitable cause - I want the best price I can get for them, without unscrupulously ripping anyone off. Bear in mind I'm not a full-time dealer - just someone who sells to make room in their collection or sometimes needs the money.
  20. Exus Trek - Sux Erekt
  21. I can remember Pete Myles' legendary cover-up; "So Glad" by Bobby Fuknoze. Was actually "So Glad We Made It" by Nicky James on UK Philips.
  22. There's a third possible problem Pete - just imagine the crowd of people coming forward with their copies of "In The Mood" or "Pensylvania 6-5-000"! Oops - sorry, Minit got in there before me!!!!
  23. I'm glad the seller put a soundbyte of the B-side as well - never heard it before. Nice though - very much like Shake & Fingerpop.
