  1. Couldn't agree more Pete!
  2. Hear, hear! ......no, I'm not stalking you Winnie!!!
  3. Totally agree Winnie - a man who has achieved more than most promoters, yet remains a modest, decent bloke whom you can't help but like and respect.
  4. I am surprised at the attitude of this seller. Doesn't he realise that Ebay have denied the seller their basic right to reply? Which means that whatever happens, you can give him a damn good slating via feedback and his Detailed Seller Ratings (eg, only 1 star for dispatch time, P&P costs etc), and he can't have any retaliatory comeback on you.
  5. Best thing to do at this point is to file an "Item Not Received" dispute, if only to put a rocket under his bum. That should make him send the records pronto.
  6. A few years ago Trickster brought "Sweet Loving" by Art Benton on Chris to the decks while I was DJing at Solid Hit Soul. Played a bit on the headphones first, and thought "this is one of the best things I've heard in ages". Played it, but only Trickster got up to dance to it. Got my own copy of it a week later, and a couple of months after that, the price went up from £10 to about £60!
  7. I could be wrong, but I thought Soul Over Easy was the instrumental to "There Must Be A Love Somewhere" by Ede Robin?
  8. And here's my old copy of the rarer, small-print label, which I sold for £20 last year (I've taken this long in posting it up because I forgot I had saved the scan!). One thing I've only just noticed is that it has a "CH" serial number, as opposed to the conventional "CRG" number.

  10. There is also a version by the Rolling Stones using exactly the same backing track as Chris Farlowe. Released here as a Decca single in 1975 - not sure if this was the original of Farlowe's or what though. Did Jagger really provide backing vocals for Farlowe's version?

  12. Also booted on Charger, but without the matrix number under the logo on the label. I think that's got to be quite rare in itself, having only seen one in 30 years.
  13. Great record - and certainly doesn't sound as late as 1979!
  14. Just found out it was a Top 50 hit here in Sep '75, reaching No. 42 (second record on the label to make the UK singles charts - "Papa Ooh Mow Mow" by The Sharonettes reached No. 26 in May that year).
  15. Thought it actually was a UK Top 40 hit in September 1975, Pete?
  16. NOW SOLD - THANKS FOR THE INTEREST! Up for sale is the original UK STEREO press of "Tasty" by Andre Brasseur (CBS LP). 17. Very sad news indeed. A very talented lady, who I shall remember best for her duets as part of Mickey and Sylvia.
  18. Was at Club Aquarium in London about 10 years ago. Saw Meera Syal up dancing with her friends to "I Feel Alright" by Turley Richards.
  19. Yes, that's what I thought (re-recording). There are two guitar breaks where there should be two bongo solos.
  20. Isn't the Creation's version of I Got The Fever a completely different recording away from The (Georgia) Prophets? I thought it was.
  21. NOW SOLD - THANKS FOR THE INTEREST! THE PLATTERS: Not My Girl / SAMMY AMBROSE: Welcome To Dreamsville (KENT 6T 3-A) This is my own copy of the 100 Club's 8th anniversary 45, given away at the 8th anniversary in September 1987. Please note that the labels on this are reversed - in actual fact, I think they all are! CONDITION VISUAL GRADING: VG+. Specifically, there are some light, superficial marks on both sides caused by some storage without a sleeve - my stupid fault entirely! "Not My Girl" has a light tic in the silent area before the intro, and there is a 2" mark on this side; a small part of which is a scratch, causing a light background tic during the fade-out. Otherwise, plays EX. "Welcome To Dreamsville" plays near perfect (EX). I have graded this as strictly and as honestly as I possibly can, so that you know exactly what to expect! £20 plus P&P (£2 in UK, £6 rest of world) PLEASE PM ME TO RESERVE - ITEM HELD FOR TWO DAYS ONLY. I ACCEPT PAYPAL, CHEQUE OR PO. Thanks, Gene

  23. Sure did get a UK release! Here's mine........
  24. Each and every one of us were young and starting out on the scene at some point in our lives. The more younger people getting in to the scene, all the better - bring it on! After all, they're gonna keep the flag flying long after our backs have given way and when our memories can't remember what happened five minutes ago!
  25. Can be done by gently flexing the centre hole until the first two grps on either side of each other are released from the centre hole, then flex other sides gently. Not recommended on styrene though - best left in place rather than risk snapping the record.
