'dished' 45's. Does It Concern You As A Collector?
Not sure you can get them any more (if it's the American Goldring centres I'm thinking of). Bought a couple of Les Paul and Mary Ford US Capitol 45s from a boot fair with them in, but they're bloody hard to remove. If I'm not wrong, Goldring stopped making them in the late '50s (but am open to correction!).

'dished' 45's. Does It Concern You As A Collector?
All warps, including dishes, should IMO be listed in an item description. What if a record doesn't sit properly on some turntables because of a dish warp? Not keen on warps myself. Would rather have a VG copy of a record, which is flat, rather than a Mint one which is distinctly warped or dished.

Next Car Boot! Pick This Up?
I did like their treatment of Sibelius' "Karelia Suite" on the Five Bridges LP.

Big List Of Odds And Ends
Well, as much as I know you Mal, I'm also entitled to my opinion - that you're a bully. Who are you to tell ANY seller what their terms of purchase are? I doubt many sellers would be turned on by your method of 'negotiation' - you're not welcome to any more sales I have on here if that's your attitude. I was going to do the right thing and bite my tongue,.......sorry Rod. I'm not trying to be 'moderator' (contrary to some belief); just making a point because this has incensed me.

John Butterworth Boot?
Didn't think it was big enough to be booted, to be honest...........but what do I know?

Have You Ever Bought A Pressing/boot That Turned Out To Be Original ?
Wasn't a Northern track, but I was sold "The Wallflower" by Etta James in the late '80s as a boot on Modern for £2, and only realised about 6 years later (after I had sold it for the same price ) that it was an original.

Alternate Versions - One In A Long Winded Series
Another Contempo-Raries issue which differs to the original 45 is "There's Nothing Else To Say" by The Incredibles. Same backing track, but totally different set of vocals (more loud and assertive). Personally, not as nice as the original Audio Arts 45.

The Original Of "i Can't Take No More" - Could It Be?
Strange how the UK Jason Cord issue states the publishers as being Donna Music, yet the Ted Wilson lists the publishers as Leo Feist Music. That said, just seen that Jason Cord was also given a US release on Chapter 1 (45-2901). Publisher also listed as Leo Feist Music on that one too.

Lou Rawls Dead End Street
Not sure if the "Too Much" LP was released in the UK - but the US release has Dead End Street complete with monologue.

The Original Of "i Can't Take No More" - Could It Be?
After my question regarding a UK recording of "I Can't Take No More" by Ted Wilson (given that it was written by Les Reed and Barry Mason), I've just found the following clip. The data I've managed to find on it so far is: JASON CORD & THE FIRST CHAPTER: "I Can't Take No More Of Your Lies (Les Reed, Barry Mason) Chapter 1 (CH 102). Released 14 June 1968 (B-side to "I've Got My Eyes On You"). Could this be the original?

John Andrews - It´s Just Love....original Version?
Not heard of that one Tony! Any idea who it's by?

John Andrews - It´s Just Love....original Version?
On the other side of the coin, "I Can't Take No More" by Ted Wilson on Sierra was written by Les Reed and Barry Mason (UK songwriters who wrote for quite a few UK artists, including Engelbert Humperdinck). Would love to know if an unreleased demo by a British artist of this exists...........anyone?

Crap Quality Pressings
May well have been awful, but at least the original was recorded in true stereo!

The Incredibles- I Can't Get Over Loosing Your Love (Mispressing)
If that's how it's credited, that that's a mispressing in itself - should be "LOSING Your Love"! Seriously though, never come across the type of mispress of this that you describe. Not sure how it would affect value though. If the Roger Baily track (don't know it myself) is not as good as the Incredibles A-side, then it probably would be worth a lot less than if it actually had "Losing Your Love" on it.

Crap Quality Pressings
Both pressings had their original B-sides ("Are You Kidding" by Vickie Baines and "The Light Of Day" by the Group) in as equally bad quality, so I guess that probably answers the rumour of them being recorded straight off the decks.

Crap Quality Pressings
As far as crap quality pressings / boots go: Robbie Lawson - Burning Sensation (pink Kyser) - why in hell's name is the 3rd bar of the intro repetitively played, rather than the original build-up in tempo intro? Joey Heatherton - When You Call Me Baby (MCA) - muffled, sounds like the recording level was up too high. Carstairs - It Really Hurts Me Girl (Red Coach - boot of w/d) - sounds like it was recorded off a transistor radio. Lou Johnson - Unsatisfied (Big Top) - taken off a scratched copy with bad tics. Jeanette Williams - All Of A Sudden (Back Beat) - not seen a boot that isn't off-centre. VIckie Baines / The Group boots on Soul Sounds - clear in one channel and echoey in the other.

Rock Candy - Confusion Over Boot Vs Orig
I should also add that I think the Contemplations is definitely the one to go for, as it also has the awesome instrumental (backing track) of 'Alone With No Love' by the Dontee Studio Band on the B-side.
