Rodd Keith On Preview
I've heard this version and it is brilliant; just as good as "Like the Lord Said". Only one or maybe two copies around? Someone treat themselves - excellent price IMO!

Jamaican Soul Labels
This is interesting - although credited to Donna Hightower, it is actually "The Pick-Up" by Etta James, backed with "The Girl In My Dreams" by The Cliques. An early Jamaican 'cover-up' title?

Jamaican Soul Labels
You're right Pete - looks lovely. Funny thing is I recall also seeing a copy on Jamaican Bethlehem (the original US label) in the early '80s, with "He Needs Me" on the flip (the real B-side, but obviously different to this). Interesting to know of both the Jamaican King and Bethlehem issues though!

Al Mccarther - Label Design
I would say yes. Only the design with the pic of the two guitars was used on the boot. Wonder if any demos were issued with the two guitars pic label?

Is This Price Correct?
I think it's a ploy used by a lot of US dealers, in that they'll set a BIN price at a ridiculous level, but allow you to make a best offer. That way, they can vet the offers they've had and ensure that it doesn't go for lower than they expected. Additionally, they can then choose whether or not to accept what offer they consider reasonable.

Comedy Sale Of The Day
Appears to be a British pressing deliberately made to look like a Jamaican one. Though they seem to have the wrong understanding - thought it was mostly the grooves that were off centre on many Jamaican pressings?

Record Cleaning Problem
Paul, I've come across that a lot with old records that look clean but sound noisy, and it's caused by crap stuck in the grooves. Hard to remove unless you use a mix of bleach and water (seriously, it works without causing ANY damage to the record - just avoid getting any of the solution on the label). Try it out on a junk record first if in doubt.

The Dooleys did the theme for the BBC's "On The Move" - a series for adults with reading difficulties in 1975. Anyone remember it?

Stateside Css 1 - Anyone Seen This Before?
Thanks Kev. Given the info in the links, I'm assuming that it's an export intended for the Asias. Unless anyone else can shine some more light on it. Makes a change from two hours ago, when I first looked at the label and thought "CSS? FFS!".

Stateside Records Expert Needed
Some UK HMV export singles from the 50s and 60s were given a JO prefix, rather than a POP prefix. I'd always believed that the JO stood for Johannesburg. This kind of reinforces that assumption. Does anyone know anything about CSS prefixed UK Stateside 45s?
