  1. I love the legend on all EMI sleeves until the mid-60s: "This record MUST by played at 45 RPM". No sense of humour, some people.............
  2. You know what they say - one man's sh*t is another man's gold!
  3. No probs mate! On that same note, I'm led to believe that Bill Johnson's version of You Got Soul is the original, before Johnny Nash, though I could be wrong. Also heard that Bill Johnson was part of Sam and Bill (with Sam Gary).
  4. Don't forget that the B-side of the Bill Johnson is "It Ain't Never Gonna Die", once covered by Ady Croasdell as Z. Z. Hill - cracking sound.
  5. Is there now just a load of sh*t for sale on Ebay? You could well be right............. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Well-Rotted-Horse-Manure-Dung-FREE-to-COLLECTOR-Easy-Access-/160980086231?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Garden_Plants_Fertiliser_CV&hash=item257b292dd7
  6. Candy - The Astors You Never Know How Much I Love You - Oscar Mack
  7. 1965 would sound right. Later pressings would still have used the same stampers.
  8. You've Been Cheatin' must have remained on catalogue for a good few months after its release (I assume Nov 1965 is correct) - Mick's copy looks as if it would have been pressed during the label's switch-round of design (roughly between April and July 1966).
  9. Someone got a bargain Sharon McMann at less than half-price....
  10. Pete, can you not 'counter-clam' against the seller on the grounds that the P&P he invoiced you for isn't the P&P listed?
  11. Well I hope I can still do that when I start claiming my pension........................
  12. No probs............
  13. The label typeface also gives it away as a bootleg - compare it to this original demo. Also, if I'm not mistaken, original US demos have "I Got A Feeling" on both sides.
  14. Can't help thinking how much it looks like something done by Banksy.
  15. Ral Donner was an Elvis soundalike at least a decade before Don't Let It Slip Away.
  16. Was released as a 45 in South Africa - but don't ask me what label, 'cos I can't remember. The only other way you'll get this on original is on the "All The Hits By Dee Dee Sharp" LP on US Cameo. It's not on an original EP as far as I know.
  17. The vinyl boot has really decent sound quality from what I can remember.
  18. It was a Plant....................
  19. Anyone got a link to the other thread, please? Would love to read it.
  20. I remember Chris Plant's playlist published in Black Echoes in early 1983. From memory, amongst the 10 listed were: Soulettes - Bring Your Fine Self Home Vondells - Hey Girl You've Changed Ramona Collins - You've Been Cheatin' Spyder Turner & The Webs - No Time (John & The Weirdest - No Time) Lenny Welch - Room For Me (Jesse Davis - There's Room For Me) Sam Coltrane - Watch Out For The Heartaches (Little Charles & The Sidewinders - It's A Heartache) Rock Candy - Makes Me Feel This Way (Main Change - Sunshine Is Her Way) I wish I could remember the other three sounds he listed, but 30 years is a long time!
  21. Good morning Al! All's well here thanks! How are you doing? Thanks for the info - would be keen to know if that clarifies things. All the best, Gene
  22. I notice it was written by "Buddy Smith". The same guy who recorded "When You Lose The One You Love" on Brute, by any chance?
  23. That's what you get for being judgemental (stupid) about someone you don't know from Adam. And yes - for your education, which you obviously need plenty of, and information, I have heard the first 2 Kinks LPs; in fact I have a lovely copy of "Kinda Kinks" in my British beat collection which I will never part with. Got anything else to add to your inarticulate, abusive rant then?
