  1. Some are: https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=shakin%27+stevens&x=14&y=10
  2. I believe he also wrote and recorded the original version of "Who's Gonna Love Me" by The Imperials.
  3. Had quite a few bargain finds over the years, but one of the best soul ones was "It'll Never Be Over For Me" by Timi Yuro on UK Liberty - found in Greenwich market for £1 one Sunday afternoon in January 1989. Swapped it two years later with Dawn Brown for The Arcades on Triad. Also had "We Got To Start Over" by The Turbines on Cenco from a US list for $10 in 2001. Coincidentally, it went to Nick Brown (Dawn's husband) for £800 worth of trades a few years later, amongst them a lovely mint Eddie Foster on In.
  4. I know Mal - old record lists make very upsetting reading!
  5. There's a lovely quality boot on Monumental (which came out in mid-'84), with "Fortune Teller" by Benny Spelman on the flip. Haven't seen one for ages though.
  6. I saw it on a John Manship sales list in September 1983 for £25.
  7. At that price I'd tell him to "kiss my a*** goodbye"!
  8. Yep - good one Weingarden. First recorded by Paul Whiteman and his orchestra.
  9. Interesting - a South African issue with a typically Japanese centre. Wonder if that puts a whole new dimension on this?
  10. I'm surprised no one's mentioned "My Little Red Book" from "What's New Pussycat.......................
  11. Yes - the Patience and Prudence version was also covered by Tracey Dey in 1964 (the official A-side to "Go Away" - US Amy and UK Stateside).

  13. There's also: Along Comes Mary - Baja Marimba Band (The Association - 1966) A Kiss To Build A Dream On - Benny Gordon (Louis Armstrong - 1951) - written in 1935, but apparently not recorded until '51, when it was featured in the Louis Armstrong / Mickey Rooney film "The Strip".
  14. I think that for every 100 decent buyers on Ebay, there is always one sick saddo who deliberately goes out of their way to try and jeopardise other sellers' ratings (or send abusive PMs), by whatever means necessary.
  15. You should also block him from bidding on any more of your auctions. PS: On the rare occasion where I've misjudged P&P costs, I always refund the excess!
  16. Does it actually exist, Alan? Can't trace anything about this. I think "I Saw Pity...." is a Joe Meek composition or something, isn't it?
  17. But it was originally pressed on stone - not vinyl!
  18. Under My Thumb - April Silva / Wayne GIbson (The Rolling Stones - 1966) As Long As She Needs Me - Carl Hal (Georgia Brown - 1960) It's A Sin To Tell A Lie - Hayward Lee (Fats Waller - 1936) Tumbling Tumbleweeds - Clara Ward (LP Track - played by Ady Croasdell during the '80s) (Sons Of The Pioneers - 1937) For All We Know - Detroit Spinners (Hal Kemp - 1934) Let The Good Times Roll / Feel So Good - Bunny Sigler (both Shirley and Lee - 1956 / 1955 respectively).
  19. Actually Pete, as far as I know, Mel Torme's version only charted for the "Comin' Home Baby" side; not as a double A-side (it was a No. 13 hit in the UK). I think the only act to officially hit with "Right Now" are The Creatures (aka Siouxsie Sue and Budgie).
  20. "I've Got A Feelin'" by Big Maybelle, which has been played, dates from 1954, and "Baby Please Don't Go" by Jo Ann Henderson is from 1955 (both of these were pressed on 45 and 78).
  21. I don't think it was. The only Performers reissue I know of is "Set Me Free" (flip side of "I'm Satisfied With You (Instrumental) on Mirwood).
  22. Someone's bragging again.....................
  23. And dressed better.
  24. Some of the guys in the clip dance like the teachers did at our school discos!
