  1. THE GROUP(CECIL WASHINGTON)-I DONT LIKE TO LOSE-SOUL SOUNDS BOOT The only way to get the excellent original B-side, "The Light Of Day" if you don't want to splash out four figures on the original!
  2. Even the flip side "You've Waited Too Long" is nice.
  3. Really sorry to hear about your wife Henrik - good luck with your wants.
  4. Hi mate! Just sent you a PM - keep in touch!
  5. Thanks for clearing that up guys. Amazing that there was 6 years between the Traits version and the Center Stage version.
  6. 1966? I could have sworn it was about 1970 (unless the 1972 Center Stage cover makes me think so)??
  7. The Astra label from Pittsburgh seemed to operate in the same way during the late 60s / early 70s - a lot of their reissues like "Gotta Give Her Love" by the Volumes were pressed on coloured vinyl.
  8. Bit cheesey IMO. But I'm sure it has some appeal.
  9. No idea - it does sound like a late '60s / early '70s reissue, though according to Popsike, one sold for $31 on Ebay last year: https://www.popsike.com/rare-soul-45-The-Whispers-on-BLACK-WHALE-The-Time-Will-Come/170773145662.html Also found this on 45cat: https://www.45cat.com/record/bw204
  10. About £30 - £40 I think Di - something like twice as much as the Volcanos. Hope you and the family are all well! xx
  11. Same thing happened to my hotmail account last year - ended up having to delete all my contacts so they stopped receiving hacked emails from 'me'.
  12. Don;t forget her version of "Where Does That Leave Me". More evocative than Romance Watson's version IMHO.
  13. That gold Colpix label looks so stunning!
  14. The 100 Club 34th anniversary is soon approaching - be sure to hear some unreleased acetates from Manilla get their first airing (subject to Ady being able to get the loan to come home)!
  15. The first 100 Club anniversary single was issued in 1984, not 1979 (so was actually the 5th Anniversary single), and was "Hey Stoney Face" - Mary Love / "It's Been So Long" - The Ikettes / "The Wallflower" - Etta James" (6T 1)
  16. Yes - that as well, though there are a few tell-tale signs on the boot, such as quality of the vinyl and a few random vinyl dimples.
  17. What about Epitome of Sound white demos? I had one which I thought was an original, only to be told that it was actually a boot. May have been you who helped me out with the advice some years ago, Pete?
  18. Nor did I. How long ago, roughly?
  19. STRANGER COLE: Run Joe / Make Believe (UK Island 45) CONDITION: VG+ PRICE: £25 plus P&P P&P (signed for / registered): £2 in UK. £7 in Europe. £8 outside Europe. Please PM me if interested. I only accept PayPal (no fees). Thanks, Gene
  20. Much preferred "Bernadine" by Fred & The Turbines on Cenco - which, I believe, was being played at around the same time.
  21. Good question Phil - don't know, to be really honest. Probably not, but maybe pressed on a different quality of vinyl.
  22. I'm led to believe that there are two boots. Firstly, the green lookalike boot with silver lettering, and a red label boot with gold lettering.
  23. Don't think it was booted. However, the copy I had in 1986, before it was known, was a vinyl press (rather than styrene), which looked only about 6 months old. It did have a 5-digit Monarch matrix though, dating it to early-1966. Looked like this, as opposed to the lined demo which looks like the credits were typed on an old electric typewriter.
  24. I know I'd pay money just to see certain records spinning round whilst being played, but not necessarily in the name of charity! It does remind me of an ad I saw in the music press during the late '70s which read something like "mail your unwanted copy of Spiral Scratch by the Buzzcocks to (name and address)"...........the barefaced cheek of some people!
  25. I've nothing against anyone doing events to genuinely raise money for charity, but why specifically freeload for a rarer demo when the stock copy's quite rife (especially in view that he claims to have been offered a couple of stock copies already)? If he's exploiting his own charity events just to get quality soul records on the cheap, then that is a sick, lower-than-low tactic. It's greed like that which makes me cynical towards anything bearing the word 'charity'.
