  1. Oh well, same sentiment - different expression:
  2. Oops sorry - my naughty one-track mind leading me astray again!
  3. Can you confirm and let me know whether it was Tony's or Dana's - please please??!! :-)
  4. Tony, you're right - if I remember, we needed something to clear the punters out at 11pm (not to mention get rid of the mouse infestation)!!! But I remember you playing "Time's A Wastin'" by Buddy Greco on UK Columbia!!!! Hope I win the bidding!! Only bid on it 'cos the guitars remind me of a porn movie I saw 20 years ago (thanks again Tony!!). Gene
  5. Laugh? I almost wet my wife's tights (oh dear, another secret out!!). Gene
  6. Have to agree - certainly with the likes of Mark Loyd, Steve Aldo or Tony Colton etc.....not like "Nobody But Me" by the Human Beanz Meanz Fartz!!! Gene
  7. Actually, doesn't the Wigan Oldies All-Niter "Listen To Those Memories" patch show a gramophone? Talk about predicting the shape of things to come!! Or was it talk about Wigan '78 being mistaken for Wigan 78s!!! Gene
  8. Like I always say, who put the **** in Country and Western???? Just think; this could mean a total rebrand all round to Ye Olde Soule Source, with such topics as "Playing Wax Cylinders at a Venue?". I'd rather wait for the next compilation from Oldmine!! Gene
  9. As long as it has matching stereo horns!!! Not so good for the rare vinyl tho!! Gene
  10. Many thanks Mick - I knew you'd be here to help me out!!! Gene
  11. Does anyone know what a UK issue of "Picture Me Gone" by Evie Sands currently goes for? I've just bought a Mint issue for £55 - a bargain, methinks? I'm sure this has gone up in price over the years, as I recall seeing US copies for double figures recently!! Any help greatly appreciated, as always.............. Gene
  12. Hi Jodie, No, the Frances Burnett is a Berry Gordy Jr and Gwen Gordy comp, and is called "How I Miss You So". Near enough though!! This version of "Miss You So" was covered by people like Ted Taylor etc. There's a thread a few weeks back called Pre-1964 Soul, where Mike gives a small insight into it - here's the link: https://www.telasource.co.uk/soul/modules/i...&showtopic=1077 Gene
  13. Yes, it's true - as highlighted by Mike in an earlier post. OK, I'll be generous with you.........good old fashioned R&B!! But it was played..........
  14. Don't Pity Me by Joanie Sommers: "These tears you see baby are not for me, I'm crying because I know I must have hurt him so"
  15. Good point Ian - though I think a Mint one goes for near enough £1,000, so I guess someone who wants one, but probably can't afford to spend that, or (like me) doesn't want to (!!) sees it as an alternative. I tap this in with 5 mins to go before the auciton closes, and it's now at about $309!!! Gene
  16. Hi Karen!!! Hope you're well. Good to hear from you. Drop us a line at some point if you can, or leave us a PM here. Keep in touch........ Take care, Gene xx
  17. Ahh!! But were the chip suppers still on ration Tone? Gene
  18. This must be the third or fourth copy of "Sweet Memories" by Robert Tanner to turn up on Ebay in as many weeks: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...e=STRK:MEBWA:IT They've all been in some sort of used condition. As rare as thought?? Gene
  19. What about "Fear Not" by the Legends? Can never tell if it's supposed to be an uptempo dancer or a soul ballad! Interesting one....... Gene
  20. I've just sent you a PM Ian!! Gene
  21. Ian, I wonder if it was mine you were outbid on? I stuck my UK copy on Ebay three weeks ago (which was only VG), and it eventually went for £117!! I'll get me anorak........ Gene
  22. Don't worry Tony - I'm sure whoever it is won't really "Kopit" from you!!! Gene
  23. Tony, you were there and I bought you one.................in 1985!!! ) Mind you, with our beer habits at the time, neither of us probably remember!! Never mind, I'll buy you one when I see ya - for old times sake, I'll pay 1985's prices for it and all!! Gene
  24. Hehehe Mick!! Know you well mate!!! PS - Dean Barlow is only available to you if you can promise me you've got something to play 78s on!!!! Gene
  25. Have to say I do agree that the Peewee, Shuck & Huey track (Beside Myself You're All I Got) is definitely amongst the best discoveries. Anyone got an idea of price tag for it on Flagg? Gene
