  1. Bootlegs of "All Of A Sudden" are on thinner vinyl and, apparently, all are pressed off-centre.
  2. OK George - accepted, and appreciated........... :good:
  3. "DON'T BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU........." This is the same Agent Double R-Soul, the same patronising wee shite who keeps slagging off the British lifestyle and claims to have a bigger collection than Tim Brown. The same guy who made himself a pain in the ass with his arrogant drivel against the UK Soul Scene. Now where did I put that article explaining that the Soul Scene originated in Australia and is patented by a certain George Coumbis?

Hi Angie, If you want, send me a PM and let me know what you've got. As a collector of most other things since 1975, I'd be happy to value them just as a bit of help. Alternatively, a good move would be to invest in the Record Collector "Rare Record Price Guide", to see what your records are worth. There is also a section which explains how to grade you records. After that, you may want to auction/sell them on Ebay, either individually or as a job lot. One bit of advice - if something is valued at abour £5, you probably won't get that much, so probably best to start bidding on individual items at £1 - £2 each, at your own discretion. Await to hear from you, perhaps? Gene
  5. Yes - this site is for lovers of MUSIC!
  6. Obviously, even the creator of Star Wars was illiterate!!
  7. Is "hits" an anagram for something?
  8. Hey Warren.....that's one of mine!! Only mine is "two more from me before I hand you over to...............". (and said with pride!!!)
  9. Just sent you a PM James. Gene
  10. No. I've had two copies of Dust My Broom on the orange Tangerine label, and they've both been spotless. Should really have sent it back and complained that it didn't have a paint splodge! Not even seen a spoldged copy of The Vala-Quons. Perhaps the splodge was the label owner's autograph? (ooops, did I say that????)
  11. No, it wouldn't be "I Need Your Love" Pete - that came out here on Blue Beat in '63. Worth mentioning that "Need Your Love" is actually not a bad calypso/soul cut in itself. Wonder what the correct title is for this mysterious Lloyd Robinson white label? Had a snippet of it on a sales tape from Johnny Fingers a few years ago, and it's either late 60s, or even crossover to the early 70s. Any clues? Wonder if it is actually Lloyd Robinson, give that the credits were probably handwritten? BTW Pete - another mid-tempo JA track comes to mind - "Land of Imagination" by Prince Buster on Blue Beat (the B-side of "The Appeal"). Have you heard it? Gene
  12. There's another JA white label mid-tempo 45 doing the rounds - "I Love You" by Lloyd Robinson. Also, is anyone aware of the Warren Schatz original of "Soon Everything Is Gonna Be Alright" (covered by Third Time Around)? A JM list from 1985 claims Schatz's version was only ever issued in Jamaica, on the Wild Flower label. Is that right? Gene
  13. "The Hurting Is Over" - Arthur Willis & his Soulful Dynamics (Mars La Tour) Probably only two known copies - in the hands of Butch and Andy Rix.
  14. Nice! Well, if Glenn Miller can do it............
  15. ...with every purchase
  16. Hi Dave, Have you still got the Buck Rogers on 21st Century and/or the Virgil Murray on Airtown available? Please let us know - ta mate. Gene
  17. ....obviously Makosi doesnt' charge for her services then, certainly in view of her "free" fling with Anthony in the jacuzzi! PS - is the front cover the inspiration for Manu Dibango's "Soul Makossi"??
  18. Just sent you a PM Kev - look forward to hearing from you! Gene
  19. I believe it sells mainly for two tracks; "Nobody Knows" by Dickie Wonder (diff.mix with female backing?) and "Baby Can't You See" by Tyrone Thomas (cover version of Little Tommy's Sound of Soul 45).
  20. Hi Mak, Please PM me about the Kiki Dee LP - thanx! Gene

Am I right in saying these two tracks, probably along with a host of others on the other LPs, are unissued, or were they previously LP tracks? The best Mary Wells tracks on the LP date from 1966, a couple of years after she left the label to go to 20th Century. Or is this a straight reissue of the Greatest Hits LP from 1966 (Tamla Motown) and/or the "My Guy" LP from 1971 (Regal Starline)? Anyone help???? Gene
  22. Sure is Ian - and another one for my wants list!!!
  23. Good idea Pete - I'll get the ball rolling later tonight when I get home from work!
  24. Thanx Janine! Let us know what you want for the ones I don't have!! Gene xxx
  25. I'm trying to collect the complete set of Motown "Sounds Superb" LPs on the budget Music For Pleasure label, all of which were released in the early to mid-70s. I could have bought any of these for 99p each whilst still at secondary school, but my musical tastes weren't quite as sophisticated then ( I was buying MFP LPs at the time, but they mostly turned out to be in the "Hot Hits" series, lol)!! The best thing about the LPs was the amount of alternate unissued takes of tracks, and "LP only" tracks which featured on them, which makes their collectability even more desireable. Does anyone know what LP releases 90001 - 90003 were? And were there any Motown related releases after 90011? Gene
