  1. Isn't this the same guy who was on the X-Factor last Saturday; the one who claimed he could re-create John Lennon's voice???? If not, maybe I'm mistaking him for another person from the same planet........
  2. Does anyone have a valuation for "Got To Find A Way Out" by the Mar-Js on Magic Touch?
  3. Good point Davie! On that note, is there any truth in the rumour that some clubs are being equipped with turntables that play at speed 78, or is it just the portable Vestax/Numark decks being plugged into the PA?
  4. It's the only good part of it - that's the one I was mugged for!
  5. Feedback suggests that it's not the first time he's tried to pass off repros as genuine items. In this case, it's Star Wars toys.
  6. The copy of "Baby Please Don't Go" by Jo Ann Henderson advertised on Ebay went for £464! Wonder what this would make the 78 worth - no smartarse comments please!! https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
  7. Are you sure it wasn't "Diamonds & Pearls" by The Paradons on Milestone? Now that IS a doo-wop record.............and it had a purple/red label.
  8. Completely agree Ian! Paid £3.99 for one out of HMV a few years ago - even at that price, I felt robbed. Oh well, let's play the first track.......think I'll have a dance to it....a 1, a 2, a 1-2-3-4......... :graywanker: :graywanker: :graywanker: :graywanker:
  9. Was chatting to Steve Czordas the other week - he's just picked one up, so you'll no doubt hear it during one of his spots, and......no, he won't sell it!
  10. LOL steve! Of course, acetates weren't even pressed - THEY WERE CUT!
  11. sounds more like a prison duet that one gene link
  12. Did that with "Black Hills of Dakota" by Doris Day - quite easy, as she pauses between syllables!
  13. Well, the Springfield Rifle track on the same label is a blue-eyed garage stomper - I guess this is much on the same lines.
  14. On "Hand It Over" by Chuck Jackson, he's heard to say "I need a crap"! In the first verse of "On The Stage of Love" by Ronnie & Joyce, mention is given to Bruce Forsyth. There's also a track called "Get Off My Back" (not Marvin Sims), by a male/female duet whose name escapes me, and I swear the lyrics are "Get off of my back, and leave my penis alone"! Eddie Holland - "If It's Love It's Alright" hears him say "I've got a funny feeling from my head down, tomatoes"
  15. Well only if you call £108 silly!!
  16. I am joking, of course, Jock!!
  17. More likely to be a dealer who knows what he can get for it.
  18. Also "The Hand Of Fate" by The Babies on Dunhill - cheap as chips, top quality, but hardly ever gets played!!
  19. You've just given your age away Dayo!!
  20. THE PHANTOM F***OFFER STRIKES AGAIN!!!!
  21. LOL Ian! As a collector of 50s/60s chart hits, it's a must-have for me! But I do like Eden Kane, especially this one (both sides), even though he was Peter Sarstedt's bruv!!
  22. Guess it goes to show that even B-sides of chart hits have their day somewhere. Like these: GLORIA GAYNOR: We Just Can't Make It (B-side of Never Can Say Goodbye) BRENTON WOOD: I Think You've Got Your Fools Mixed Up (B-side of Gimme Little Sign) EDEN KANE: A New Kind Of Lovin' (B-side of Forget Me Not, later covered by Patrice Rushen ) Are there more?
  23. I bought mine at a boot sale for £1 in 1990. This copy is now in the hands of Dawn Brown (Nick Browns' wife), as the result of a trade for The Arcades on Triad a couple of years later!! Still, I'm pleased it went to a couple of very good friends!!
  24. Is that an "Invitation"??? (sorry, bad pun!)
