"Second issue" - though make what you will of that euphemism! Oops - sorry! Am I being sinikal, or just illiterate??
  2. Good man that you are Mike - so what did you to get blacklisted from trading?
  3. Sorry Rich, but as much as it is a tempting idea, it's not a very good move in the light of the situation. If the seller is vindictive enough, he could use the above as evidence to threaten auction sabotage, which is a suspendable offence on Ebay.
  4. I love these!! Really interesting to note on the chart for the week ending 28 Aug 1967, that FIVE official A-sides of Northern dancers made their way into the chart: THE UNITED FOUR: Go On (A-side to "She's Putting You On") No. 13 THE FIVE STAIRSTEPS: The Touch Of You (A-side to "Change Of Pace") No. 20 SYL JOHNSON: Come On Sock It To Me (A-side to "Try Me") No. 24 HAROLD MELVIN: Go Away (A-side to "What Can A Man Do") No. 26 MIKE & THE CENSATIONS: Nothing I Can Do (A-side to "Don't Mess With Me") No. 30 Would love to see more of these..........

Hi Determined, It's actually "Chick Chick/You Gotta Be An Angel" by The El Corols on Rouser. Not completely sure on price, but I guess around the £75-£100 mark at the moment.
  6. Sorry Paul - forgot it was you for a minute!! Gene
  7. I've bought from Ashley Weaver in the past with no problem, and have always found his grading to be spot on, so this comes as a surprise. he wasn't using that Ebay ID at the time though.
  8. Thanx for helping clear that up Steve!! (no, not another freudian pun!). Actually, it's just been clarified that whilst this is now known not to be the same Kim Cattrall, she too had a "singing career (that is, if you can count "aah-aah-aah-ooohhh" from various S&TC episodes, or "owwwwwwwwwww" from Porkys!).
  9. Well now that I have your undivided attention after mention of the word SEX........!!!!
  10. May be a silly question, but there's no chance of this person being the same Kim Catrall (sic) from Sex & The City is there? Did she have a singing "career"? She'd actually be old enough to have recorded something like this SOURCE: JOHN MANSHIP'S RAREST OF THE RARE

Isn't this the same guy who was on the X-Factor last Saturday; the one who claimed he could re-create John Lennon's voice???? If not, maybe I'm mistaking him for another person from the same planet........

Does anyone have a valuation for "Got To Find A Way Out" by the Mar-Js on Magic Touch?
  13. Good point Davie! On that note, is there any truth in the rumour that some clubs are being equipped with turntables that play at speed 78, or is it just the portable Vestax/Numark decks being plugged into the PA?
  14. It's the only good part of it - that's the one I was mugged for!
  15. Feedback suggests that it's not the first time he's tried to pass off repros as genuine items. In this case, it's Star Wars toys.
  16. The copy of "Baby Please Don't Go" by Jo Ann Henderson advertised on Ebay went for £464! Wonder what this would make the 78 worth - no smartarse comments please!! https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Are you sure it wasn't "Diamonds & Pearls" by The Paradons on Milestone? Now that IS a doo-wop record.............and it had a purple/red label.
  18. Completely agree Ian! Paid £3.99 for one out of HMV a few years ago - even at that price, I felt robbed. Oh well, let's play the first track.......think I'll have a dance to it....a 1, a 2, a 1-2-3-4......... :graywanker: :graywanker: :graywanker: :graywanker:
  19. Was chatting to Steve Czordas the other week - he's just picked one up, so you'll no doubt hear it during one of his spots, and......no, he won't sell it!
  20. LOL steve! Of course, acetates weren't even pressed - THEY WERE CUT!
  21. sounds more like a prison duet that one gene link
  22. Did that with "Black Hills of Dakota" by Doris Day - quite easy, as she pauses between syllables!
  23. Well, the Springfield Rifle track on the same label is a blue-eyed garage stomper - I guess this is much on the same lines.
  24. On "Hand It Over" by Chuck Jackson, he's heard to say "I need a crap"! In the first verse of "On The Stage of Love" by Ronnie & Joyce, mention is given to Bruce Forsyth. There's also a track called "Get Off My Back" (not Marvin Sims), by a male/female duet whose name escapes me, and I swear the lyrics are "Get off of my back, and leave my penis alone"! Eddie Holland - "If It's Love It's Alright" hears him say "I've got a funny feeling from my head down, tomatoes"
  25. Well only if you call £108 silly!!
