  1. Thanks for that Gaz - I guess that must be 4 copies now (Me, Wrighty, John Weston and Alan H) - unless anyone out there knows different!
  2. Interesting.............the seller of my copy thought it to be out of Daytona, Ohio......
  3. Smartarse Dave!!! That's the one Gaz - obvioiusly the label owner had something of a sense of humour! If you can find the article, that would be great - thanks in advance!
  4. Does anyone know anything about this? I know John Weston plays it from time to time, but is it that widely known? Anyone know of a value for it? Before you ask, yes I have just received one!
  5. It's a brilliant record, but always seems to clear the floor when I play it.....
  6. Well, the tone of this thread has well and truly "gone down"!
  7. That joins the list of double-meaning soul labels like "Erect" and "How Big". Any more out there? PS - surprised the Fellatio label didn't have an equally tacky sub-logo like "For Your Aural Enjoyment"!!
  8. I think it's more like £75 - £100 these days.
  9. It's "There's No Other Love".
  10. As well as the obligatory junk mailing and utility bill, the nice thing Mr Postie has brought me so far this week is: Leroy Jones - Sone Day (Hit) - same as Thomas Henry on Spar ....and am also awaiting, any moment now: Zenobia Bonner - All Alone (Accident) Antwans - Ain't That Love (Snawtna) The Traits - Someday, Someway (Contact)
  11. Very sad news.................enough said.
  12. Correction - the second lowest form of wit, after loud farting.
  13. If you get a genuine message from a member, the heading will say "Message From (SENDER NAME) to (YOUR MEMBER NAME). If the title does not contain your Ebay member ID, you'll know it's a fraud - copy the properties and report it to Ebay's fraud section.............for what it's worth (!) Then delete it immediately..... Gene
  14. I know......I was being fescie.......fascishus.......fesci........LIPPY!
  15. Erm......something called "I Can't Make It Anymore"........ain't got a bloody clue what it's like tho.
  16. Pete - was it you who recalled "Sherry" by Hugo Montenegro played at half-time during a match? Someone told me they had a long time ago - suspect it may have been you mate!
  17. Paul, you should stop being so modest - go for a can of Party Seven instead!
  18. Oops........cheers Baz - just realised my error!! Another thought - So was Eddie Singleton regularly in the habit of using Goldmine/Soul Supply to distribute Shrine records in 1966?
  19. Yes, but when you look at his feedback, you'll see that some items are still private (even after the auction's closed), and some can still be viewed.
  20. Why is it that only CERTAIN items on his auction are private? Beats me to think that he's received bids of $102 for it as well!!!
  21. I thought it was a "Sensible Soul Club" project, run by Craig Brick, Paul Guntrip, Sean McClusky etc. DJs were people like Ion (I think), Stuart Cosgrove, maybe even Dave Thorley and Ian Clark. A couple of nites, from what I can remember, took place here in 1985 (from when the above flyers date back to). Around March that year, I can remember the Scala nites (complete with playlists) being given full-page coverage in Echoes. Gene
  22. About £20 - £25 on the Betty Turner 45, Kirsty.....................
  23. Thanks for the help so far Rich, and to anyone else! It may help if I describe the copy I have. There is no evidence of a "photocopy" look, even though the back cover is black and white. The cover appears to be pretty tough cardboard, typical of US LPs from that time, though the inside of the cover is white as opposed to cardboard grey. The label just gives details of tracks - no producer or composer credits etc.... Any help greatly appreciated!!
  24. Cheers Rich - do you happen to know if they're exact lookalikes? And if so, is there a way of telling the difference?
  25. Anyone know if the "Food For Thought" LP by the JB's on People (US issue from 1972) was ever reissued or booted as a lookalike?
