    Howard Tate RIP

Hi Steve Thanks for posting it up. Just been spinning it in the all new record room, been up and running for a week or so, pop out for meals and work wife not happy at all. Losing Howard Tate and J Blackfoot and off topic Gary Speed, it seems to be all gloom and doom, but lets remember the entertainment all 3 gave us. Kev
  15. One of those artists that came under the "achingly soulfull" banner for me. "Whats Happening", "Midnight Sunshine" "Taxi" "Sidewalk", and as Jock mentioned "Poem on the schoolhouse wall" are examples that rival anything you can mention, the man was that good, in an age where they pass off practically middle of the road singers as soul singers we can hardly afford to lose the likes of J Blackfoot and Howard Tate. R.I.P. both of them Kev

    Howard Tate RIP

Sad news indeed, just got the record room up and running after being flooded (8 months without soulfull vinyl, not recommended) so just dug out "These are the things" on Turntable, inded, what a talent. R.I.P. Howard Tate Kev
  17. What a record, what a price Kev
  18. Totally gutted by this, really nice guy, joy to be around, thoughts are with Karen and all his family now. God bless you Ted Kev
  19. PM,d you Henry Best Regards Kev
  20. James Brown was the self professed "Number 1 Soul Brother" and if you listen to his not so well known stuff you can see why, forget about "Sex Machine" and "Get up offa that thing" and the likes and dig a little deeper for the real stuff, the man is achingly soulful, Tomo from Middlesboro knocked a CD up for me a few months ago of his not so well known stuff (only a few I had heard) and it hasn,t been off the player since. I am not knocking the disco stuff, it was a milestone in Soul Music, but as I said, dig deeper and listen to "Soul Brother Number One" Kev
  21. Worth a spin next Saturday Sean Kev
