  2. Yep Andy, the Rondo 45 is awesome IMHO, a long time want, I think you and Chris are probably keeping the only 2 in the UK down there in East Anglia Kev
  3. Oops, wrong mix lol, sorry, don't know who it is Kev

  5. Fantastic playlist Kev
  6. Still listen to his shows, at least twice a week, find it hard to listen elsewhere, his shows were, and still are, a great source to hear something you aint heard before, especially if Group Soul Harmony and Sweet Soul is your bag, his collection in that sphere is a joke, knowledge, which was considerable, always shared with his listeners at every opportunity. It didn't matter if it was super rare, or a standard classic, he belted them out, side by side. I know he's been gone a while now, and oh how we miss him, but he was, and always will be The Standed Bearer for his, and many more like minded, favourite genre Kev
  7. great analogy Andy Kev
  8. WOW, awesome playlist Steve Kev
  9. Quality set Dave Kev
  10. And the upshot of all this chinwag is, that folk are still in the 80s, 9os , record bar mindset, " Northern Soul" is the be all and end all of the determination of the Rare Soul market, I love debate, but when people don't get that worldwide, collectors of rare soul, don't give a flying fuck about the European "Northern Soul scene" so called rules and regulations, the parameters changed years ago, it be,s that way Kev
  11. That's right Dave, everybody seems to be wrapped up in this "Northern Soul" "British Soul scene" be all and end all perception, like I said earlier in the thread, on a world market concept, the pigeon holing means little or nothing to the rare soul collectors in say, California, Japan etc, the days where the market was determined in the record bars of soul nites and niters is prehistoric now, take a look at what Sweet and Group Harmony prices are doing worldwide now, without a dancefloor in sight, the rare soul market is getting bigger and bigger world wide, those who think the arse will drop out of it, don't hold your breath. Kev
  12. That's right, I've said many times on here, forget the "going rate" it's over, times we live in, like you suggest, these things just ain't there anymore, record buying trips to the States are yielding less and less imho, the market is totally different to what it was " back in the day" what we deem as Northern Soul, applying our own, rules, and regulations etc, (pricing, condition etc) doesn't apply, "Rare Soul" be it Northern, Modern, Deep, Crossover, Sweet, Group Harmony etc Al, is a very desirable and sought after commodity, worldwide, some of the guy's throwing their hat's in the ring have never been to a Niter or Soul nite in their lives, they collect "rare soul" in all it's forms and formats. I have no problem with whatever stance folk take on this, all I will say is, a record really is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, get used to it, it ain't going away. Kev
  13. Times we live in, forget the going rate on anything, price wise, nothing surprises me, the scope is a lot, lot larger than the Northern Soul fraternity throwing their hats in the ring on these items, worldwide, there are collectors of "rare" Soul music, no pidgeon holing, people who've never been to a niter over here, every week people are aghast at the prices changing hands, all bets are off, prices are a reflection on how much someone wants a record, nowt to do with "going rate" we'll just have to get used to it, it's not going away Kev
  14. Thanks Alan, that'll be on Lu Lu then ? Hope you're well Kev
  15. Sorted, Many thanks Kev
  16. Looking for a clean copy of Alvin Green and Green Fire-Turning on and tuning in Please message if you can help Kev
  17. Bollocks to the fags, anyone who ain't got this book already, believe me, it's essential Kev
  18. Bobas collection was a joke, he had the lot, Sweet, Group Harmony Soul, which is my bag, I still, and always will, tap into his archive shows, he loved the artists, and as we know, interviewed loads of the groups on his show, especially Chicago groups, still can't believe he's gone, forget the trumpt up self serving so called BIG names, this man was in another league, we miss you Boba, R.I.P Kev
  19. Wouldn't be surprised if 7 Nombres went across the pond, rare, and the type of thing the West Coast guy's go for, think it's better known over there Kev
  20. Yes Carl, it's album only Kev
  21. The Invincible, Together, We Can Make Something Happen, Album, Heard the title track on one of Boba,s shows while having my monthly bath. Fantastic Group Soul from Englewood, Southside Chicago, 1975, 5 really strong tracks, but, Together, is an absolute killer Kev
  22. That's it, everything is now practically in people's collections, the auction items from Tim Brown and John Manship have been submitted from people's collections, record digging trips to the States are nowhere near as productive as they were, two contributing factors, the US are well on to it, have been for years, and, you can only go to the well so many times, anything fresh and of interest to the dance driven scene gets offered to certain DJs, the door, as you suggest, keeps revolving and revolving Kev
