  1. "Woman gotta have it" outstanding track on there aswell Paul, also fantastic rendition of the Beatles "And i love her", fantastic set Kev
  2. Spot on Steve, THE BEST, 70,s output incredible, the two sets he did for Columbia, "Pieces" and "Home is where the heart is" for some reason don't get the acclaim they deserve, someone mentioned the Muscle Shoals film due out, well, if you want to hear them, rythm and horn sections at full tilt, listen to "Standing in the safety zone" from the "Home" set, absolutely breathtaking, and then the ballad "One more chance" (killer) the next track, just perfect Kev
  3. On nightshift Paul, wife taped it, can't wait to view it Kev

  7. Wanted-Sunny and the Sunliners-Runaway/Let Me Love You-Keyloc Please PM with price and condition Kev
  8. What a fitting tribute, speechless in fact, theres a part near the end of "Reminiscing" where Marvin is going through the gears, and Johnny Carter comes in twice, if that wasn't sent from the gods I don't know what was. Kev
  9. Oh yes, incredible Looked at listing, playing now, might be too much for a man to take in one session, this cannot be beaten Kev
  10. Fantastic price on the Jimmy Lewis, great record, flip excellent aswell, BARGAIN Kev
  11. When you watch Sam and Dave, the show they put on and the fact they hated each other, what would it have been like if they had loved each other, still. incredible, I have some other footage somewhere, where they are doing "You don,t know like i know" where the whole place is rocking (not like Norway), it drains you just watching them, INCREDIBLE Kev
  12. If its what I think it is, the Sam and Dave footage is incredible Kev
  13. Got one myself, love it, will have its day Kev
  14. Gutted, but as Sean stated we knew he was very poorly, still don't make it any easier, The Dells are the greatest vocal group ever, very versatile, but, for me when they got down and deep they were an unmoveable force, Teddy Pendergrass said in his book the first time he heard Marvin Junior live his voice shook the building, testament itself from one of the genuine greats Kev
  15. Right there Byrney, but IMHO Buddy Smith is not up for debate, plain and simply an incredible SOUL record, some might say its Northern, some would even say its Deep, rare or not rare just incredible. Antellects on the other hand does nowt for me, and can understand debate rarity over quality etc Kev
  16. That was the 1st place he tried Paul Kev
  17. Listened this morning Bob, while having my monthly bath loved Doris Duke, Barbera Mason (how good an artist is she), all the Chicago recorded Vietnam records were right up my street, some I knew, some I didn,t, hadn,t heard the Paul Smith in years, in fact I had forgot all about it, that and Kenni Lewis, it don't get much better. Great stuff Kev
  18. All 4 Paul, he loves all the Philly and Salsoul stuff (so do I ) Kev
  19. I know Paul, getting them is the problem, my brother in law wants it Kev
  20. Will listen later Bob, that playlist (the ones I know) looks awesome, looking forward to the few I know and anticipation at the one's I don't Kev
  21. Great set Sid,Debonairs-Untrue Woman, actually played out at a venue, my type of DJ, great stuff Kev
  22. Deano dancing should be a thread itself, can honestly only remember him "throwing himself about" once, (probably a couple more) and that was at Lifeline in Dewsbury, when Butch played Parliaments, "This is my rainy day" Gaz Kellet, top top man, always used to come and stand with us lads from the NE at Mexboro, Blackburn, Shotts etc and crack on about records for ages, great days, wish Gaz was still doing the rounds, us lads loved him. Kev
  23. Np probs Joe Soul Meditations-Someone to hold me-Ovide now sorted thanks Kev
