  1. Fantastic record Pete, regular plays in this house Kev
  2. Incredible !! So p----d off us lads couldn,t make it, diversity in all things soulful again, we already have train tickets for October 20th in the bag, these lads have got it exact to a T, fantastic stuff Kev
  3. To be honest Swifty, I did ok off his lists Cliff Nobles-My Love-J-V £2 Brothers of Soul-Come on back-Boo £2, there was more, just can,t remember Kev
  4. Talking of Richard Domar, a trip in the early nineties that I wasn,t on, my mate Gaz Simon, Pete and Mick were somewhere in Philly, Gaz had designated everyone an area to cover with a fine tooth pick so to speak, "no stone unturned" we used to say, Richard Domar walked in and started looking himself, obviously, conversation started, niceties etc, all he was talking about was getting out of there and going to see the latest Ninja Turtles film that was showing to the extent of being unbearable, apparently he was quite condescending and had no crack, anyway, after a couple of hours Domar pulled a record out and started chuckling to himself, "oh look, Metros-Since I found my baby on an issue" he gloated, "foynd of the daay" he kept repeating as he went to pay for his finds, steam coming out of Gaz,s ears by now, even after paying and on his way out "foynd of the daay" he gloated. As soon as the door shut Gaz went ballistic with the other 2 "how the f--k did you 2 useless b------s miss that" he ranted as a full blown out shouting inquest was held. Sounds like an annoying fella, and Richard Domar Kev

Thanks Robb I saw a film a few years ago with Danny Glover in, can,t remember what it was called, but he saved a white guys ass who had broken down, I am quite sure it was Rampart where it happened, looked quite dodgey to me Kev
  6. Played it tonight, brilliant !! out of the tracks I didn,t know, Kicking Mustangs was the standout of a brilliant bunch Kev

Four Tempos-Got to have you is a very good record IMHO, my guess is the label came out of Los Angeles, think there is a district in LA called Rampart Kev
  8. Brilliant ! Kev
  9. Thought John Moore in Philly was a smashing guy, loosened up loads when we started playing and looking for group records, couldn't keep him quiet after that, "play this guys, you,ll love it",we played The Players "He,ll be back" him and his mate were taken aback, "jeez, do you guys like this kind of stuff", had a couple of really good days in his "House of harmony" Kev
  10. Marvellous stuff, follow his channel on Youtube, its a goldmine. Kev
  11. Great stuff Chris, Notations-There I Go, stuff like this should be played all the time, loved it for years, once again, its left to the collectors and soul lovers to play real gems that are just laying there, screaming to be played out Kev
  12. Also great price on The Fiats Brian, real tough Detroit group record, remember as far back as early 90,s American collectors asking for it over here, rarely comes up Kev
  13. If their version of "Danny Boy" is half as good as John Edwards, then you've still got yourself a great double sider Kev
  14. Great price on the Harvey Averne, fatastic record Kev
  15. Turn it over Pete, 2 gems for the price of one Kev

LP, s, are you allowed to swear on here seriously though, can't really think of any rare one's, but hey, thank the lord they all seem to be accessible cos any Harold Melvin or Ojays set on the label are essential for the REAL soul lover, as mentioned, the Anthony White is brill aswell Kev
  17. Brilliant stuff as per the normal, Wee, Whispers, Combinations lead singer very much reminded me of McKinley Mitchell, brilliant, the best though, Xavier, fantastic, the Ronnie McNeir is from a superb set, which I don't have and desperately need, there are 4 tracks very similar to the brilliant "Summertime", great stuff again Bob, and thanks Kev
  18. Great post, the albums you mention there Glyn are downright essential ultra soulful albums, something that doesn't really appeal to the "big ticket" boys and girls Kev

Thats the one I have Mike and love it, better record still by him (on the album aswell) in my opinion is "I,m so much in love with you" for me, the best track on the album Kev
  20. Been a big fan of this for a while Pete, records like this, and Jo Ann Garrett "One woman" are as good as Ella Woods, Ty Karim etc, but that naughty word "rare" will stop the likes of, having their day in the sun Kev

Quite ironic Rodders, my bro in law loves Philly, Salsoul etc, I made him a CD yesterday with Trammps "Where do we go from Here" and "I know that feeling" included. We got talking about the Trammps and I told him about "Stop and think" and told him it was becoming quite hard to find and in demand, so I am interested aswell to know, think Chris Anderton had one on his site, probably long gone now Kev
  23. Freda Payne, can anybody ever spend a better tenner Kev
