Tomo from the Boro showed me a Youtube clip that will stay with me forever, Aretha gets a clearly unwell Levi to join her on the stage, he is wheel chair bound and when he comes out is crying his eyes out, obviously overwhelmed by the ovation he so rightly gets, him and Aretha sing through his tears, emotional and heartbreaking

Hi Paul
Geoff is still around, think he distributes wine now for a living, remember going back to the days of the shop, 1982 I think it was when he was selling those cut outs, Ralph Graham, Walter Heath, Dells, New Birth etc, I got loads and during the course of time gave loads away to the extent that when I went to dig Ralph Graham out I found that I had given them all away and not kept one gutted
Great days indeed

Hi Ali
Think the underground scene ran from Wigans closure until we were saddled with this nostalgia "I used to go to Wigan you know" leg iron that came back to recreate the Wigan thing, round about 1984-2002ish, the mid eighties to the early nineties were the golden years if you ask me, the underground years, people went for the music, not to be on a scene.

Sure is a sad story regarding Marvin Ali, must admit though, its the 1st time I have heard Berry Gordy admit he was wrong in the stance he took over the "Whats Going On" set, every other interview I have seen with him talking about it, he came over as if he was in on the project when we all knew he was dead against it. and I have always thought "the two faced b-----d".

Don,t know how true it is, but the rumour was that Teddy left The Bluenotes because Harold Melvin wanted to bring her in and obviously use her more on lead vocal, Teddy took umberance and the rest as they say is history

Absolutely Mike, one of my all time favourite albums, essential for any soul collector, dead right, packed with incredible ballads and some great movers on there aswell
Kev
You,re dead right Steve, the answers yes on both counts, I am no bother to anyone though, and generally know most of the folk at the venues I go to
