  1. Classic male "Sweet Soul" Ken, Falsetto lead can be mistaken for female vocal, or adolescent male lead, superb record anyhow Kev
  2. No, big want here, male group harmony at its zenith Sweet Soul heaven, male falsetto intro, backed by tight male harmony Kev
  3. R.I.P Greg Treasure the "One For The Road" set, a masterpiece Kev
  4. Rob Marriot played an alternative version out back in 1990ish, sure it was an unissued acetate version sourced from the can Kev

  7. Really saddened by this, Karl was as keen as mustard about his soul, great nights at the legendary DDA sessions at Lowton, like everyone says, great character, good to be around, RIP Karl
  8. Still looking Aristocrats-Be My Lady-Rondo Cold bold and together-All the time-Ice X-cessors-Silent weapon-Lu-Tall Kev
  9. There were two groups called Blue Magic, the "Can I say I love you" which you duly played, think, not 100% though, they were a West Coast group, then there was the Philly group, who were quite prolific output wise, serving up typical for the era (early 70s) and area (Philadelphia) Sweet Soul ballads Kev
  10. Is that The Soul Ambassadors on Ovide?
  11. Gotcha my man Kev
  12. ⁷Just listened to the hour show, while having my monthly bath (taken regardless of needed or not) veerry nice listen !!! Amongst others, good to hear Odds Against Tomorrow, Point of no return being played out by someone, a few years ago I said, like many others, it will disappear from the face of the earth, surprisingly though, it is still accessible, used to listen to the Solar shows when Junior was guesting, always a good listen Kev
  13. Messi to go out a well deserved winner
  14. Yep, not my choice, but understand why people would agree
  15. Seen it Karl, awesome, the two greatest players of all time imo, wear the No10 shirt, and are from the same country Kev
  16. Subjective, when rating player's contributions, or placing them in order, don't agree with Ken, but hey, that's just me, everything, barring that 1 penalty miss, Messi touches, turns to gold, the descriptives "great" "genius" "legend" are used fleetingly in sport, but any superlative attached to Messi is justified, his movements are economical, at 35, that's understandable, he's taking everything in, surveying the field, finding the pockets, which is an art in itself, considering the attention from the opposition, then choosing the moment to explode, people think he's just walking around, how wrong they are, incredible football brain to go with unrivalled command of a football, Player of the tournament by a country mile for me, and hopefully, the GOAT in waiting, come Sunday Kev
  17. Desired , Cold, Bold and Together All the time, Ice X-cessors, Silent weapon, Lu-Tall Aristocrats-Be My Lady-Rondo Please PM if you can help Kev
  18. Best team through, should have been in 90mins, but Argies showed great character to boss extra time and pens, with momentum, and the support, Argies are traditionally dangerous, we're 50/50 tomorrow, got a hunch we might edge the French, by any means necessary, no great teams here today, fitness, athleticism and organisational nous is cancelling out a lot of the games, which all teams at this level have now, mistakes, or the odd glimpse of genius are deciding games, it's anybodies, there is no back line like Italy 2006 (Nesta, Cannavaro, Chielini, Zambrotta, Grosso, Buffon) no midfield, Spain 2010, (Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Silva) no frontline Brazil 2002, (Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho) really enjoying it though Kev
  19. It's anyone's, entertaining, no great teams out there, every team still in, can be got at, and I include us in that, fortune favours the brave as they say, food for thought there for Gareth Kev
  20. Also check out, Burke Family, Under your spell, Cobblestone, another absolute gem that won't break the bank Kev
  21. Well, he answered in the affirmative, great strike, exactly when they needed him, I hope you're right, I'd love to see him go out as a winner, of course it's subjective as to who was the greatest, 2 different players and personalities, been an honour and privilege to see them both Kev
  22. Be interesting to see if Messi can rouse his men, they need him now, a half fit Maradona took his troops all the way to the final after that Cameroon shocker, "cometh the hour, cometh the man" as they say, I always said, in 2014 final, if you take Messi out, pur Maradona in, Argentina win, hands down, Maradona took 2 half decent teams, that's all they were, to 2 consecutive finals, stats are stats, and there's no denying Messi, I love the guy, but when it came to lifting players around them, Maradona was in a league of his own Kev
  23. Brilliant stuff Chris
  24. This will be the most open World Cup in memory IMHO, we'll (England) never have a better chance of winning it, all teams are beatable, and have vulnerable aspects to them Kev
