  10. Great post Richard, same here, love my records, but want CD,s from other peoples collections to hear new stuff, thing is, in this day and age we can go out and search for new stuff to listen to, either physically or by media rather than hanging on to what a DJ says and plays. Kev

Notations, great record Chalky, and worthy of your opinion, this, however, no chance of a venue outing is my favourite, been looking for ages but its tough and maybe out of my price bracket, think a lot of Sweet Soulers who haven't heard it will love it, therefore a hit IMHO The Whole Truth-Can you lose-EFE Kev

Must have been a few in for it, don,t understand the right or wrong version? I know Brett's is different (not that much) personally I like both takes, and it matters little to me that I have the wrong take Kev

Going to use a swear word hear "Album track" seen it mentioned as an option, my choice, as Nev so rightly tipped their latest, Notations, some have tried with this I know, but I reckon if this was on a 45, a lot more people would be talking about it Notations-There I go-Gemigo Kev
  22. Been browsing in the record room, dug the "Body Heat" album out, this is the track before "People wake up and give yourself a chance", only James Brown (and maybe Ike Hayes) could take a Bacharach/David standard and totally make it their own. Fantastic, the last minute and a half is particularly incredible Kev

Good post Dave, I think most peoples perceptions of records "making it" on here is if it was played out to the masses and achieved dancefloor recognition, as far as I see it, if someone recommends something and there is a few who don't know it and love it, then for me its made it, dancefloor or not, great thread to check stuff out you might not know, just like the Record Club on here, I certainly love the slower side of soul, so realistically, Jim Wray lounge or Horse and Groom, Doncaster and Filthy are the only places I will here that kind of stuff (at a venue). Sure, records could have been played 10 years ago to a limited audience to minimal success, but a tip now might be a better time for that particular record to prosper, great thread IMHO, a great way to share records which is why I reckon Sean set the thread away in the first place Kev
  24. Will do my man, lets get it sorted Kev
  25. Absolutely brilliant Paul, Tomo put this on a CD for me a couple of years ago, is it an album track. BTW, hope you and Debbie are well Best Kev
