  1. Indeed Dave, Mark Houghton has These Gents for a tenner in Sales, Peace on Earth and The Soul Makers my particular faves among a very strong playlist Kev
  2. 2 beauties Dave you could probably hear at the likes of Horse and Groom Doncaster and Just Soul Barnby Moor, defo ripe for those 2 venues. See the likeness to DB but I have also at times likened him to William "Wee Gee" Howard and LJ Reynolds, great post Kev
  3. Cheers Daved, will pass info on, I should have known about Steve's do, thanks for reminder. Any one else any suggestions ? Kev
  4. Hi all A good mate of mine was asking me if there was anywhere playing Blackpool Mecca stuff, particularly from the 1976-1978 era, any info would be appreciated, especially North East area as he is keen to visit suitable venues Best Regards Kev

  7. Bobbi and Michi-Hey Girl should be massive, nice spot Tracey, Rythmn Rascals aswell, great record
  8. Then the punters (or venue attendee) integrity comes into question Phil, only interested if "Big name" plays it, not interested if Bilbo Baggins plays it. Get your point, its a very valid one
  9. Less of that nonsense, Get it up Rob, will no doubt be packed with soulful goodies Kev

  18. Cheers Greg, plenty on there I don't know and need to hear Kev
  19. Can't imagine people at a "soul do" marching up and down the dancefloor line dance fashion in unison to "Movin on" and doing human pyramids etc Kev
  20. Same request as Franc Greg, is there a link for this show Kev
  21. Good topic Nev, however, not for me, your records represent you, there's plenty out there without having to resort to borrowing, a promoter will hire you on what you already have, confidence enough if you ask me that they think you have what it takes to give their venue a buzz. I also think it hinders creativeness, that incentive to dig the crates for something different, that ultimately represents you and your hard work, the thinking men out there will then appreciate that more than you borrowing stuff that doesn't belong to you, it opens itself to "big record ok, but it ain't his" and we all know that would happen Best Kev
  22. Great stuff Brian, really enjoyed, top of a great bunch, Ebonystic, fantastic Kev
  23. Precisions, Professionals (different take), Bob Collins, Sweets, Sandy Golden were all on same tape Kev with "Love on a lease plan" not sure who that was by, maybe Johnnie Taylor Kev
  24. Sheer torture having to read those playlists and not being able to get there, awesome, see you lads in June Kev
  25. Dynamics-Ain't no love at all, talk about thinking mans soul, great stuff again Sid Kev
