  12. Have told this story before on SS, its still so vivid and tells you just how good the record is, me and my mate Gaz Simon were in Canada at Martin Koppel's in 1989, we went to an industrial estate in Toronto where Martin had a unit that was wall to wall, floor to roof 7 inch vinyl, 4 coloured guys had come up from New York to buy Soul records and Martin was playing them a pile he thought they might be interested in on a small deck on the counter, me and Gaz were buried in dust and vinyl, then we heard the immortal intro to Open the door, after about a minute the guys were whooping and high 5ing and man hugging, I will take that memory with me until I die, its still so vivid Kev

  16. Just had a look back, that Bar Riche is the place to be, awesome sets from Paul, Steve and Wayne, Forth Session, Jerry Butler, Newsounds, Unlimited Four, James Dee etc all massive favourites here, must have been awesome hearing them and the calibre of being played out, shades of the Jim Wray lounge Yarmouth, great stuff indeed Kev
  17. Nice set Philipo, Casanova Two, all timer for me See you in town some time Kev

  22. We have lost 2 giants from the world of the music we love, Boba and Don Davis, this is one of the records that connects them, produced by Don and Bob loved these guys, The Dells Kev
  23. I have just come in from a few beers with friends and have seen this, I am totally wiped out by this, spoke to Bob regularly on all things soulful, stroppy at times, you bet, but no bullshit with this fella, knowledge beyond belief, taste, I am biased here, but right up my street, I owe this man so much for his advice and records he put me onto, some so good I have immediately tried to acquire, like this, which I know he told me was one of the greatest Sweet Soul records ever, Bob, totally irreplaceable to us Soul Fans Double O Demingoes-Color one tear black Bob, we will never forget you Kev
