  1. Hi Jim Sorry, got to disagree, the mid 80,s through early 90's for me was a golden era, plenty going on, it was fantastic because it was defo underground, new discovered sounds to be heard most weeks, no retro circus, just enough venues to keep you occupied most weeks, 100 Club, Mexboro, Swan Mansfield, Shotts Allenton, Blackburn, everyone just moved around a good core of quality venues. Great days Kev

  16. Yes, never been a fan of the "who screams loudest is most soulful" ethic, you see them on X Factor trying to emulate it and I think its cringeworthy, they start screeching the crowd starts cheering more, the reaction of the judges, the whole thing is embarrassing, Aretha knew when to rein it in, Gladys is incredible and Shirley Brown another of my faves, must say I like Loleatta and Linda, "Cry to me" set is a big fave in this house Kev
  17. "We did it baby" is a fantastic record, both sides Kev
  18. All of their records are very good and very hard to find, this is probably the one with the bigger demand, appealing to dancers and sweet soul collectors, good luck in your search Kev

  22. Album track from 1966, Temps, "Solo Years" when it came to versatility the Temps were the masters for me, all of them could take the lead, and some people rightly argue that this fella was the best of them all, Paul Williams
