  5. Just purchased the the 6 part "We own this city" from Prime Video, seen it before, but it's addictive, the true story, (dramatised) of Wayne Jenkins, leader in chief of the most ruthless and corrupt Police squad in America, they were a squad especially put together, called The Gun Trace Task Force, on the ghetto streets of Baltimore, this only happened about 10 years ago, some of their antics beggar belief, and they convinced themselves they were doing God's work, just as addictive as his previous work (David Simon) The Wire Kev
  6. Technique, decision making and tactical nous create the possibilities to play a slick game Karl, and most of that is god given, and encouraged at an early age in the better footballing nations, who I don't, and haven't included us in for year's Kev
  7. The Spanish demand a high technical game, they always have, always will, we demand a high octane game where the fans demand the ball goes forward as quickly as possible, so ball retention comes a lot easier for the Spaniards, they've also added our physicality, and the Italians pressing game(Italians were doing it in the 90,s, before we even knew what it meant) to their game to use on the rare occasions the ball was turned over, all added up, that's covering all the bases, I still think we have this sense of entitlement and a dismissal of other teams qualities Ken, all in all, you can't cry wolf like we have for 58 years, without looking at yourself and perhaps asking, "what are the others doing that we aren't " Kev
  8. That is something you can't coach Ken, being comfortable when receiving the ball under pressure, then making the correct decision in a split second enables you to take care of the ball, and then, in the modern game, at the highest level, you have to times that by 11, something we've never been accomplished at Kev

  16. On 2 labels, Boo, and Criss Cross, any preference, great record btw
  17. Indeed, we miss Bob greatly, still listen to his shows at least once a week, a great amount of the stuff he was unveiling has really come to the fore these past few years, streets ahead of the crowd IMHO Kev
  18. Would have flew out Stateside John, I can put it out on IG if you want, if you're prepared to sell to the US, you can't dance to it, so market value here is fucked Kev
  19. Must have been, can't imagine that kinda shit going down in Englewood, Cabrini Green or Robert Taylor Homes Kev
  20. Not about how good someone looks on the dance floor, it's all about genuinely feeling and loving the music, that's all that counts IMHO, if you've got that, bollocks to what anyone thinks about your steps, even if you've got 3 left feet, embrace the phenomenon that is SOUL music, and do your own thing, bollocks everyone else Kev
  21. Nice record from King Charles, and the Wailers on Coxone is good, but, few and far between, you can talk as long as you like about the mods and skinheads, but, the appreciation, and understanding of REAL Soul music, and it's purpose, weren't really appreciated IMH, over here, until the mid 80,s onwards, whenst, no longer was the DJ king, collectors embarking on their own digging expeditions t,other side of the pond, unearthing the real stuff, no patronising here, just saying it as I saw it, Reggae had no place at all at any of the magnificent progressive Soul venues I frequented, totally different genre for me, I'm only answering the subject matter, Reggae, for me, has no place at bona fide SOUL events Kev
  22. No chance, East Detroit, South Side of Chicago, Cleveland Ohio, North Philly, Palmer Park DC , etc al, Reggae has no place amongst the American ghetto that gave us the incredible concept that is SOUL music, folk have got to realise, that this phenomenon was never meant for white folk in a dance hall in England, Europe etc, it was meant for Afro Americans, in the the 60s and 70s, to forget their depair in the ghetto, and let their frustrations out on a Saturday night, so where Reggae comes into this is beyond me Kev
  23. Great stuff as usual Hans, looking forward to seeing you all in June, seven of us coming over Kev
