  1. According to the discography of Dutch London-label releases on 45Cat website, FL2052 would have been issued late 62 or early 63. Sadly the release isn't listed, but FL2051 is listed as being released in Dec 62, and FL2054 in Feb 63. Link here: https://www.45cat.com/label/london-nl/9 The other Dutch 45 of Comin' Home (AH 101) is listed as having been released in October 62, a few months earlier, so it's reasonably safe to figure that your FL2052 is a repress.
  2. Jeez. And there I was thinking you had a modicum of intelligence. The Oxford comma is nothing like a Bedford van. Think Mini Mayfair instead.
  3. But only if it's felt an Oxford comma is necessary. If the sentence was longer, and the subjects or clauses more complicated, then the comma would help clarify meaning for the reader. In an informal context - which this is - readers can understand what is meant without the Oxford comma easily enough, so the lack of it can be readily accepted and excused. Clarity of meaning in the minds of readers trumps the sometimes arcane rules of overly complicated English grammar.
  4. There are some horrific typos in that preview and some dodgy punctuation.
  5. Well worth a look - the winning entries in the 2018 Bird Photographer of the Year competition... https://www.bbc.com/news/in-pictures-45259173
  6. More likely that someone from Bell screwed up and sent the masters to the backing tracks for pressing instead of the masters with vocals on top. It seems sensible to think the pressing plant would only have used what they were given.
  7. On Renfro or the later Bell press? I presume the latter.
  8. Just stumbled over this thread while searching for something on Google! On the first page the rare Canadian mispress of The Atttractions - Destination you - is mentioned. This is the one where the vocals were missed off somehow, so you just get the instrumental backing track. I posted this on YouTube a couple of years back and, having just rediscovered this thread, thought I'd share it with you now...
  9. One for sale on Facebook. Only posted a couple of hours ago: https://www.facebook.com/groups/347276541975044/
  10. Like many on here, I've very few pics of me at nights or nighters. In fact, I can probably count them on one hand. Anyway, I found two that I'd scanned some years back... This is me standing by my mate's rusty motor outside an alldayer in a tiny village hall somewhere in the deep, rural backwoods of Suffolk. I haven't a clue where this might have been and not sure of the year, but reckon it was about 1987. Me and the late Jim Demetriou in a caravan at the Great Yarmouth Weekender in 1990.
  11. The "most liked" photo for the month of July was this one taken by @Winsford Soul showing the dramatic sunset hues enhanced by local moorland fires. Well done, Ste!
  12. If I'm not mistaken, the 45 purchased by the OP was cracked already. So it snapping might well be plausible.
  13. I had an almost identical situation with a seller on eBay just recently. Bought a 45 at what I thought was an acceptable price and paid for registered/tracked shipping. No sign of the 45 a few weeks later. The seller offers excuses, then says they're on holiday, then stops replying to my messages. I make a claim through eBay and get a full refund in the space of about two hours. There was another copy of the 45 on eBay at the same time, courtesy of a different seller, and with a price five times higher than the price I paid. I believe, but can't prove, that the seller I bought from spotted the higher-priced 45 and so chose not to send it to me. The seller is based in England. As has already been said, bad sellers are everywhere.
  14. Conned? I thought you said the seller gave you a refund.

  17. The UK white label demo has "Look back and smile" on the flip. The US white label demo is single-sided.

  19. Misery is not only a state of mind - it's also a destination!
  20. A very lightweight piece glossing over the facts of their genesis. No mention of James Brown’s one-time go-to manager, roadie, chauffeur and one-off Loma Recod label artist, Walter Foster, who was instrumental in the band’s formation. In checking my archive of soul-related website bookmarks, I’m really disappointed to see Walter has now been written out of the group’s official history on their own website. Once upon a time, and why I archived the bookmark, is that Foster had been given some public dues by the band. Wiping him from their history is a disservice to themselves, the public, and Foster himself. Sad. https://koolandthegang.com/history/
