  1. Platform 4 of the train station under Schiphol Airport at 18:00 today at what would normally be 'rush hour' - almost completely deserted. Not sure if a panorama shot will work in the limited space here, but worth a try. Sepia effect added for, well... effect!
  2. Thank you. It's obviously a fixture from our apartment, but catching it in such a light as this is a real treat!
  3. I trust the book. It cites sources, whereas 45cat does not. Your choice.
  4. The book entry is based on local info sourced courtesy of interviews the author made. What's the source of the 45cat entry?
  5. Our first mini harvest of balcony grown French beans, picked early this morning. It ain’t much, but we should be able to keep picking as the summer goes on - and there ain’t nothing like growing your own.
  6. According to the book "Do you hear that beat: Wisconsin pop/rock in the 50s & 60s", two members of The Inspirations - Dean Hottinger and Bill Tracinski/Tate (spelling given in the book as 'Tazinsky') - went on to record with Monopoly, with that Sage 45 being released in 1972.

  8. Caught this in the evening light on our balcony with my iPad - cucumber leaf and tendril.
  9. Sunset view of our local windmill as seen through one of our windows this evening.
  10. I’m pleased you enjoyed it. Thanks a lot for listening, and for taking the time to comment. That’s really appreciated. Cheers!
  11. There's a fine selection of photos taken this week by readers in Scotland on the BBC News website, including this one. Pic credit: Lorraine Pratt Link to pics: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-52955408
  12. A freshly selected lucky dip of soul gospel and more from the 1960s to the present day. Featuring sounds from Jason Joshua, Jay Nemor, US Warren, Jimmy Delphs, Sissie Houston, Michelle David - and there are a few vintage radio ads thrown in for good measure - one featuring Curtis Mayfield, and another courtesy of Mitch Ryder. Click, listen, enjoy!
  13. It's in the email address Al posted: https://alhughesmusic.com
  14. No problem. Hope the link is useful to you.
  15. Less than and hour later and from the other side of our apartment the view is all together different!
  16. There have been mentions of Jody and his origins on here before. Here's a link I posted just a bit more than a year ago that offers some insight... https://taskandpurpose.com/history/brief-history-jody-original-mr-steal-girl
  17. Great tune, and a shame it is so lo-fi - Nancy Lee - No words for love (MoDo)
  18. Ooh, interesting - and a series that completely passed me by. Will enjoy watching.
  19. We spent all day and night on the balcony yesterday and even managed a small barbecue. Caught sight of the SpaceX rocket as well, which rounded off the day perfectly. Buzzards circling overhead. There were five of them, but they were never close enough for a group pic! This one's been heavily cropped as the birds were way out of range for my limited zoom lens. A balcony visitor...
  20. Nice one. I had a pic published online by a UK newspaper in their selection of reader photos. Think it might have been the Daily Telegraph, but that was years ago.
