  1. The last four buys for me are: Inverts - Look out Love - Tower (bought nearly four weeks ago and not yet turned up! Finally arrived - phew!) George Freeman - Down and Out - Valiant Gates Intino - She just said no - Stadium Rockmasters - Raining teardrops - Romulus
  2. Milton Grayson? This is my fave version & I'll be playing on Saturday at the Amsterdam Soul Club
  3. You mean this one? All you need to do to post a vid is paste in the url. Simple...
  4. And some copies have a red sticker on both sides with the name Joe Adams covering up the name James Lawson.
  5. Aren't they the ones who go one about how Summers and Northern Soul were better in the old days? (Only joking)
  6. Well, at least it's not John Manship's fault for a change...
  7. I recall reading the Washington Post article some years back and was really impressed by it. Reading it again now, I have to say that I think it's possibly one of the best bits of 'Northern Soul' related journalism I've read, ever.
  8. Have to say I was more excited by the Robert Johnson 78 that showed up in the listings underneath - starting price $10,000. https://www.ebay.com/itm/robert-johnson-vocalion-sweet-home-chicago-walkin-blues-/181034259102
  9. Brenton Wood - although was an athlete only at college level
  10. Also still got a copy of that issue somewhere. That feature had a big impact on me as a youngster who'd only recently discovered the strange world of Northern Soul! Don't think I'd even been to an allnighter then, only soul nights of various sizes around the Kent area. After reading that, and all the tales I'd already heard from mates who had the luxury of a car, and I was raring to travel 'up North' for my Northern Soul baptism (which happened to be at Hinckley to see some bloke called JJ Barnes).
  11. No, they're designed to stack. The rounded 'balls' on the corners of the bottom of the box are indented, meaning that top and bottom of separate boxes fit snugly into one another...
  12. I have a couple of Swan 200s already. There's plenty of clearance between the handle and the base courtesy of the raised corners. They stack perfectly. Hold on, I'll take a quick pic. Here you go...
  13. And there's this killer gospel number from the other Larks...
  14. Have to say that the last Swan 200 box I bought wasn't that well put together - the lid doesn't fit as flush as it should. Given that Swan are quite expensive, especially when you add shipping to Europe on top of the price, I reckon the Neo make could be worth a try - but only if they stack. I've got a couple of old 300 boxes I'd like to get rid of - the damn things weigh a ton!
  15. Can anyone confirm whether the Neo boxes are stackable? As has been mentioned, it looks like the handle would prevent that from being possible.
  16. So, nobody should ever not snipe...
  17. Any chance you could clarify that bit, Bob? Should we always ever snipe or should we not ever snipe?
  18. I'm listening to that track now and think it's great fun - a wild glockenspiel version of Ghost Riders in the Sky! I can just imagine the reaction if you managed to get someone to play this out unwittingly. Brilliant!
  19. Just got a copy of this in the last week. When you listen to the tracks with the vocals on, the spotlight's very much on Morris Chestnut's wonderful tones and in some respects he overshadows the supporting arrangements. Listening to them without his voice and you can't help but notice just how rich and well produced the backing tracks for both cuts really are.
  20. How much is postage to Europe, please? Couldn't see it on the site you linked to...
