  1. dont forget wipe out /the sufaris,psycho/the sonics and sanctuary by the cult !! best northern tunes on the rallies in the 80s for me were im coming home and im gonna give you tomorrow...and i still luv em and judy street..sorry but its true....
  2. got mine yesturday..played most of one straight away and sounding good, will play the rest today while driving my van...over and over no doubt !....looks great too....many thanx
  3. dont get me wrong i never play it at home or out BUT its not dross in my opinion, its a good tune if judged as a tune and not on the ammount of times die hard soul fans have heard it over the last 40 years or so....so yes most on here are bored of it and dont wanna listen or dance to it but for those hearing it the first time (as with a lot of us)its very different.....thats what i think anyway
  4. AS ALREADY MENTIONED TOP ONE FOR ME WOULD BE ..MARY WELLS,DEAR LOVER/CANT YOU SEE.. A COUPLE OF COMMON BUT NONE THE LESS GOOD TUNES.. GONNA MESS UP A GOOD THING/JERK LOOSE...FONTELLA BASS&BOBBYMCLURE/OLIVER SAIN ITCHING IN MY HEART/HES ALL I GOT....SUPREMES
  5. as with all of the above its both for me too..lucky enough to have a room at home with two decks and surrounded by vinyl and after over 30 years of collecting still get a buzz from physically playing a tune ,which is one reason why cds never do it for me its just not the same but thats not just soul.....then with going out you got the buzz of chatting endlessly with like minded souls, watching the faces of people getting the same feelings on the dancefloor or having a conversation cut short by either you or the other person apologising and running to the floor when a certain tune is played...GREAT !!
  6. cant believe the ballads has not gone..wicked track, and certainly no ballad !
  7. i suppose its a case of not being able to please all the people all the time but i think djs should at least try and not play for themselves or a handful of collectors that they may see in the crowd, whether its a nighter or soul nite it should be the djs intention to get people up on the floor, not everyone will dance, for whatever reason, but can you imagine if nobody danced all night !...what atmosphere would there be ? as a dj of 20 years (reggae and soul) i love to see people dance (as i do ) and once theyre up its great tryin to keep them there,if i wanted to stand there watchin the record going round id do it at home !
  8. very sad,one way street always takes me back to being a seventeen year old on the scooter rallies in the early 80s...love teasin you too ,great voice
  9. with the risk of sounding like a parrot its magic touch for me too, always gettin requested when i play scooter rallies and little soul nites around bristol...might have heard it a million times but still sounds good..a sign of quality !
