if it does take a few years off the end of your life...it probably gonna be the shit ones when youre sitting ina home wearing a nappy anyway! :-) dean
-
i use to put them up every month for go go children but now not so regular...no real reason except maybe time.... maybe people dont want other djs searchin through lists to pick up tunes that they are playin?.... dean
-
but then there are those i meet mainly at work with heart problems who havnt stayed up all night since they were in their twenties and who have never taken drugs.....lifes a lottery....anything in MODERATION...just enjoy it FFS!.....7 years ago got told i was diabetic so i have to look after myself but as my nurse says...you gotta live too and their are other 'oldies' still going out.. those who were born in the 50/60s are indeed the first generation to do this but as has been said some teddy boys still doing pontins weekenders, wheeling jerry lee lewis to his piano...the scooter rally scene is still mental...and i still know people in their 40s going out on the dance scene in bristol(techno/drum and bass)....nicci teaches teenage kids who are into drum and bass who werent even alive when d&b was already a nationwide scene ..life is short and time goes fast! dean

peggy always fills the floor and linden is a great double sider with 'aint got time' on the flip dean

in my opinion as pete said its more baffled than hating or jealousy as most of us are buyers and sellers...if someone wants to pay 10 times the value for something i dont care, its up to them if they can afford it but as i buy on a budget i cant help but think WTFthats stupid...im not calling them stupid per se,they must be good at something to be in that position!... doesnt make me jealous either...im not jealous of anyone...inc JM fair play for his sucsess i even like tesco..another great british sucsess story dean
-
yeah thatsa big difference and just plain stupid!....but then again theyre are on ebay too i supose with the tempests boot recently so maybe they dont just stick with him...i guess we'll never know as no one will come on here an admit to being one of the buyers and jm rightly will not tell...but every week you do wonder again WTF!
-
im sure they would pete, ive never had a problem with condition off of any 'pro' sellers on here inc yourself...i just think those who pay twice as much from manship are probably extremely rich so saving money is not on their minds...and if they are too busy to search through various dealers aswell they would stick to him which is why he continually gets higher prices for tunes week in week out..IMHO dean
-
i guess they are extremely wealthy busy people who do not need or have the time to spend hours searching through various sites...business people or even those famous soul fans who get mentioned from time to time,i mean i cant see the likes of paul weller sitting on ebay and esniping to save a bit of cash...with jm's auction they know they will get the best condition and good service... dean

Help! Will Be In London And Edinburgh In June - Midweek Soul?
Spacehopper replied to Ljblanken's topic in All About the SOUL
shame youre working weekends..london all dayer on sunday 17th june at the dome(boston arms) tuffnell park dean -
would rather pay the £220 (if i had it!)being asked in sales for one of these than most overplayed oldies of the same price that would probably sell in an instant... im sure many more djs playing it only heard dj honky from the states playing it,first heard it on his cd
-
been looking for one of these for years...only seen one which went for £265,missed the auctions ricky posted...then just like buses a month back i saw two on discogs, one in the uk for £400 and one in the states for $250,offered him $200 (£120ish)and he went for it...mint copy so i was happy great tune dean
-
dont mind the desriptions as long as theyre right!....what annoys me is when a seller puts up the same list as last week with no mention of it in the title..fine if tunes have been reduced or more added but the same tunes that didnt sell last time at the same prices? dean

Northern Soul - The Film - Latest news - March 2012
Spacehopper commented on Mike's article in News Archives
but whos detail is actually right!...people on here have said women didnt do acrobatic dancing back in the wigan days..others said they did......people have said women didnt wear the big skirts back at wigan...others including a vid ive seen with keb on saying they did..... no one was at every soul night or even probably every wigan and most of our memories (i wasnt there but mine from the 80s) are a little blurred.... im suprised to hear so much negativity considering its a soul fan WHO WAS THERE making it unlike soul boy.....i dont think shes cashing in in fact shes taking a big risk...and maybe shes starting to wonder why bother if the hardcore soul fans on here are ready to knock the smallest of mistakes... i liked the trailor and the young dancers have really come on since the first sessions i look forward to watching it dean -

thanx mate,we already have!...start july 7th then as normal every first saturday apart from sept when it will be the second.....bit of a risk though...holds 300 ,weve been cramming between 90 and 140 into our 70 capacity club for the last 2 years so its a risk weve gotta take...so many people have travelled down, loved the music but been too frustrated when they couldnt dance to come back...the new venue had loads of room to dance on a maple sprung floor!....just hope we dont lose the GREAT atmosphere we had at the last place dean -
and after pickin up the dianne elliott from the post office thinkin it was a 'birthday' parcel from me mum for nicci...the day gets better cos when i get home the tempests lp is waitin for me...just the kittens / is it over baby to go now
