only had a couple broke and one of them was in good packaging but you could see an indent in the card where something heavy had been placed on it..on top of the fragile sticker!...had a lot in shit packaging that hves made it including one in a thin card bendy envelope with one piece of bubble wrap...luckily fine, messaged the seller and she thanked me for letting her know as if i'd let her into a big secret ... said she'd wrap them better in future 'on the flipside'..ive also had a lot wrapped SO tight with so much masking/gaffer tape ive been shitting myself opening them in case i break them! dean

great double sider..played it a couple of times over the last few years, often in the playbox but sadly guilty of 'overlooking' it/running out of time..thought you would have known to 'always try the b side!!'

i think you have to claim off royal mail and standard post is insured to £30 so should be ok,might take a while though... dean
-
still 180-200 on lists but a few turned up recently and had been going for 60 on ebay...probably all dried up now though...great tune, still a floorfiller! dean

problems with just one channel can sometimes be the head not sitting level, not being locked in the right position...taking it off the arm and replacing can sometimes cure it..normally this is lack of volume one side though...but if the needle is not sitting right could still cause small distortion as it was with mine last night which was also worse in one channel
-
may have been played in the past with a knackered needle if its just the one side, ive got a couple like that..my herbert hunter is like that, looks mint..b side plays mint but 'i was born to love you' plays with some hiss on the higher frequencys...slightly annoying at home but ok on a big club system with some eq saying that last night i was playing a record with distortion id not heard before...ive recently set my decks up (via you tube) with new ortofon heads and needles and made them a lot lighter...noticed the other deck was slightly heavier and didnt distort...so made the distorting side slightly heavier and distortion gone..phew...needle obviously not sitting in the groove correctly good luck! dean

produced by eddie kendricks i think he means...looks and sounds the same as my demo,as much as it can on a pc.. funny enuff i played it last night and popped back in my playbox for a couple of guest spots where 70s is liked dean
-
always knew there were different versions but never compared...ive got 143 but just listened to both on you tube and not sure which one i like best now!..143 is more punchy and drums are more 'northern' i suppose but i do like the doubled up more funky drums and the way she lingers her words a bit on the other...or maybe i just like hearing new things great tune either way dean

Prestatyn Play Lists For The Queen Vic On Saturday 8 Til 11 Pm
Spacehopper replied to JOE TORQUAY's topic in Look At Your Box
think they were the same djs playing in the redemption room sunday night..wasnt in vic myself but some i was with had been but yeah, top tunes sunday too..one of em dressed sharp mod suit with glasses and his enthusiasm was wicked both when he was djing and when others were dean -
was my request..cheers ted...was always my request with des too...love it...even when it was covered up knew it was bev as i can still remember running to the decks many years back now when i first heard des play it..pete lyster and trowbridge matt have also got it down here in the sw know of it selling last year a few times 400-1000!...another one i'll never own...one copy had been autographed by bev on her first tv appearence, cant remember what it said now but it was thanking someone for helping her not be so nervous..think that one went for about 600 have to try and not play 'air keyboards' through the solo! dean

Charlene & The Soul Serenaders 'can You Win' On A Mint Volt Us 45
Spacehopper replied to Steve Plumb's topic in Website Sales
one just went through for £366....vg+..bordering on mint minus..which sounds a bit of a jump! great tune -
anyone know if john bishop trio was the instrumental version played on sunday in the redemption room at prestatyn? wasnt little sonny...meant to ask the dj but forgot..doh!...got a friend on FB also asking who it was..cant find a you tube clip
-
ginger played a great set in the rare room....and it wasnt funky edged or rnb..was northern and im sure would have still gone down well in the main room..shame
-
at prestatyn spent most of my time in the redemption room and cant remember one repeat...the times i was in the main room heard a few and a lot of complaints about it but was still rammed ?? was sitting up in the seats early evening having a pint and saw a dj turn up half hour before his set and say he was gonna play something a bit refreshing...within his first four played two tunes id heard maybe hour before he turned up,maybe why there was about 150 people in there and only half a dozen dancing!...and this wasnt 4 in the morning remember so no excuse really..if its an alldayer/niter/weekender need to be there a couple hours earlier than your set IMO sean chapman on the other hand was in the arena all night before his late slot with a notebook writing down every tune that was in his playbox as it was played...so it can be done dean
-
love where do i go a great dancer too, been playing it a bit over the last 6 months but admit was a new one to me till sometime last year...should be played more! dean
-
out of the 30 tunes i play each month at our night there may be a dozen i play each time as i know they are crowd faves but i do try to make the rest of the set up with stuff ive only just bought, havnt played for a while or at all.. i havnt really got a problem with djs playing much the same set...most of them are big tunes and thats what theyve been employed to do by the promoters and the majority of the crowd want to hear..at our night the djs know they havnt got to do that though we like them to do as THEY please ,we book djs we trust and it normally works..but thats a different thread to be honest nowadays i dont get annoyed hearing tunes repeated..dissapointed when its 3 or 4 times but it is in my experiance only at certain niters which i dont go to that often...and still enjoy when i do despite the repeats
-
agree maybe a mod nite and a dj plays rnb he doesnt have to turn up for the latin dj who starts....dont think the original post was referring to that kind of situation... big allnighter...mainly northern oldies ....top name dj turns up at 3 for his 4oclock set and goes home when done after playing at least two overplayed oldies which had been played in the last couple of hours....seen it happen after being told a few hours earlier that it would happen!!..i dont think the .dj should have to turn up at 9 even then but maybe11/12... i also didnt mean he may not be passionate about the music, who am i to say that about anyone...what i meant was hes obviously just going through the motions....there are literally hundreds of djs who would love that slot and think about what they would play for weeks in adv and make sure they were there before not to duplicate and have enough in reserve if his proposed set had been played...personally i would rather hear his set even if they were not four figure tunes dean
-
i think theres a lot of excuses being posted personally.... a spot is only 25 tunes tops....i can fit about 50+ with card sleeves in my small box (which is only used for sales)...thats two sets worth...if somones asked you to play you should at least carry a 100 box (i take 200)...theyre not heavy...used to work with a reggae sound playing for 3+ hours and take 3 crates of 12s aswell as my sevens! not going cos they might not like the other djs on first?....i wouldnt have thought so and wouldnt be welcome at our gig to be honest !!...move over and let someone play who has a passion for the scene and playing in my opinion dean
-
love it ian....got it on casino classics sshhh!...its ok never played it out...got a reggae version by john holt on trojan too dean
-
can add kenny burrell to sean and nige...when he was still playing a few years back at cheltenham he was there before doors opened all the way from scotland for that exact reason can remember a few years back at kings hall and the sales boxes were to far from the main hall for sean to hear and he wasnt on first id have to try remember what had been played and report back to sean so he could put them to the back of his box to be sure not to replay back then it was marvin gayes starved heart that was played four times a night...
-
...people still go to see them so the promoters still book em...sadly
-
not heard it much at soul nites...allnighters? yes normally as has been said by djs turning up late which isnt on....weekenders with various arenas i suppose its gonna happen...frank wilson and alfie davidson at scooter rallies normally about 5 times over the weekend!.. cant remember the tune..but can remember a dj saying 'when was the last time you heard this?'..looked to my side and me and a stranger both smiled and said at the same time about 3/4 hour ago! :-) sam played a record twice at vava voom alnighter NYE which was our fault and he did admit it on the mic and said he wasnt losing it..as normal nicci requested the tune but was stuck at the bar being served so couldnt dance...but as the tune was tommy dents soul thang i dont think anybody complained..we certainly didnt! dean

ive had a few times...i suppose its to do with the insurance on higher valued items...if the seller says there worth $10 he cant claim the true value if they go missing?
