  2. ike lovelys a brilliant track...check it out on you tube if you dont know it!..well worth $30 dean
  3. typical..a south west dj!...must have missed that mate..
  4. some great tracks...a few being played down here in the sw but then some ive put back in the box and still been guilty of not playing...so many tunes and so little time..but having a monthly nite does mean im always trawling through the shelves picking out things ive not heard out for a while..id get bored playing the same thing let alone our regulars! and as i cant afford the next big thing or the BIG overplayed classics its something i not only enjoy doing but have to..underplayed alongside the cheaper lesser known one from me then....anyone playing this blue eyed thing at the moment?..ive not heard it down here https://youtu.be/hcRPiqc8pCU dean
  5. picked up a spare of this...not in manships book but seen on lists for £60...still lesser known?..EX cond..clip is not my copy £50 as thats what i paid for mine...£2 recorded post in uk..paypal as a gift 'goes down' well on the dancefloor https://youtu.be/_d-XTfsd0Lk cheers for looking dean
  6. think we may get complacent when doing nites and bars and clubs that are not on the scene ....i dont think theres any other scene where you can be 95% sure you can leave your bags, coats and even records without them going missing gutted for craig..dont know the details but as benji said dont think its robbery from the person where records go missing..more often from the bar or car...reminds me of kenny padlocking his box to tables with a BIG chain...but i suppose when you know everyone knows THAT record is in the box it makes sense! dean
  7. saw this on fb...gutted for craig, only met him recently through george..top bloke...lets hope he gets them back! dean
  8. with the internet and cd comps there is more 'original' rnb music available now to young bands in the uk than in the 60s..which also could be an answer to the question on rnb played at the wheel...mid 60s so lots of soul aswell as the rnb..but not as much available to hear as now! dean
  9. i thought todays 'rnb' stood for rubbish and boring! dean
  10. lots of jamaicans dabbled in soul and without rnb and soul there would have been no ska and reggae BUT the blues busters did sooo many great tracks.. https://youtu.be/hiGxtmzmzoY dean
  11. seems im out voted then..majority rule..its northern
  12. ive heard djs and seen posts where losing again is called rnb..and although its been on the northern scene for years i think has that rnb feel..its uptempo but hasnt got the classic northern 4 beats on the snare and that guitar riff is blues!...there are plenty IMO that crossover from rnb to soul..normally mid 60s..but it comes to that old chestnut again what is northern soul?
  13. only 3? from my playbox.... big daddy rogers-im a big man do you still love me-cookie jackson the queen-big ella 3 i havnt got... if you want to hold on-jt parker little annie-anna belle ceasar losing again-ray agee dean
