  1. wess and the Airedales is a bargain..and a killer too!
  2. well this is shite..thought there would be loads of reviews on here by now?..or are they all still hungover/up dancing ;-)
  3. cheapies!..all on you tube, money back if not happy wild rnb instrumental..robins theme/dan and dale ex cond £20 great underplayed northern...George semper/don't be afraid ex con £15 classic northern...pity the poorman/George tindley vg++ £10 uk signed for post £2.50 £40 the lot, free uk post :-) cheers dean
  4. watched it too, great film......this rnb cheapie has had a couple of spins at ours https://youtu.be/5R6iWMl629I
  5. I respect the young guns cos they are OUT every week DANCING!...no they don't need to wear the bags and big skirts but if they wanna so what..they look better than a lot of the oldies still wearing them I know some of them and they are very respectful to all those who have gone before so I don't think the post earlier was calling all old people bastards..only those who are whiney soul snobs..of which there are some on both sides of the rare/oldies fence aswell as the young/old debate I don't think the poster ever claimed to 'save' our scene but lets face it you only have to look around at a lot of venues and do you honestly think those who are 55+ and are still out on the floor every week will be in 10 years?..im only 46 so hopefully I will..just! ..people talking on pcs every nite about a subject does not a scene make yes there may have been a bit of attitude in the post...BECAUSE THEYRE YOUNG!!! strange how people read posts differently atb happy
  6. lev (one of the young dancers) and her mum eve,a lifelong soulie from Bristol made a vid for you tube with the two tunes mixed in which went viral..this then got back to pharrell which is how come they were on there last night
  7. agree dave not as bad as i thought it may be on here...some bad ones on FB...heres my two pennies worth as already posted on FB..well it a slow day at work! yes the dresses are a bit cringeworthy..but theyre not the only ones who wear them!...and lev and the youngsters normally look a lot better when out and about..as in Gloucester ALL Saturday night..guessing maybe people in the background had a say at what they wore?? no the tunes not northern..but neither was IMO a lot of the shit white pop and tv instrumental played at wigan it was no worse than chosen few on top of the pops or the oldies on paul ogrady..and we survived that and its not gonna kill our 'underground' scene..do you really think theres gonna be coachloads of young kids turn up at a niter near you?....it may have happened at wigan after TOTP but the age gap was a lot smaller then...most kids wont wanna dance with us..these grew up with us..hopefully there will be some who thought..oh whats that?.. where can I get more of that?..and will come and join in for life and carry it on in a few years when a lot of you will be out even less than you are now! fair play and well done for having fun I say..hope to see em on the dancefloor..which I will :-) dean
  8. probably originals and kenni lewis for me...just got the originals alt take and like it even better one to add, another spencer wiggins ..im at the breaking point..gorgeous...must be good as I normally only do uptempo!
  9. not bad, good for today!! as in compared to most modern music...yes would have been better recorded in the 70s as it has that too crisp modern sound as did the four vandals compared to levines 70s productions IMO see you both tomorrow dean
  10. look below but a bit too far south for most on here
  11. random draw?..15% allocated to south of stoke doesn't seem very random

  15. unbelievable!..can normally see where breaks are because the groove tends to be different widths anyway?..can understand the tape to find the break quick but scratching?
  16. RIP very sad..only met him half a dozen times maybe but would chat like id known him all my life..remember sitting in his motor outside bidds for ages talking about rnb..while nicci and des were searching for me all over, worried id had a bad hypo (diabetic) somewhere and keeled over :-)
  17. before it gets locked..i too know of a dj who wont spend big money on an original if its been booted and played out no prob with boots/reissues for playing on decks at home..more fun than sitting down listening to a disc or mp3s on a pc I think most djs buy what we can afford right?..so if these boot playing djs bought originals then wouldn't it be fair to say a lot of these great cheapies and forgotton about oldies (£5-20)would be played out?...make for a lot more interestin nights and maybe not so many top 100 obsessed people if they got to here them instead of the same old ..just a thought
  18. yeah good idea..already being done on facebook..group called rare soul valuations and one called rnb wants and valuations...but again the valuations are still all over the place
  19. lol...yeah most are their own..not gonna put ours up but love the dig deeper above, got the Barbara lynn in a record I bought from him

  21. umm 5 for 2013 inc playing out and home/car... 1. lend me your hand-kindly shepherds..had this for a few years now but other than once I think I have played this out every time!..the only record in my collection that I have done that with so gotta inc it...still nowhere near bored with it 2.when he speaks-Dianne Elliot 3.i can feel it-carl carlton................both theses two come close second to most dj'd with and the diane Elliot gets lots of spins at home too..beautiful! 4.the kangaroo pt 3-abraham and the Casanovas... this was new to me this year (I think!) when kev higham did me a cd..although a cheapie took me a while to track one down 5.its not too late-Cheryl Johnson...this one is more of a home spin as john stapleton has been playing it at gogo for about 5 years!...a bit too funky for a lot of nights I get slots at but I have spun it out a few times..never thought id get one especially when one went for about £1200 in oct 2012!!....couple months later I got one for £120,writing on label and only a strong vg but plays much much better :-) dean
