  2. Bloody hell Kev. Bobby Franklin is a 100 times better than Gary Lewis, Keith, Nosmo King etc and Cochise got played at Wigan as well as the Mecca.

  4. Martyn Barons get played mid 70's, without really being noticed by the masses.
  5. Apart from the later days at Wigan, most records (not all) were played at other venues first, fact. Wigan did make the sounds known to the masses, and in some cases the records became even bigger if you know what l mean.
  6. Unforgivable crime, where's the soul police when you need them.
  7. Can't remember if l heard them at Wigan or not, but got my 1st copy of Seven Souls in the summer of 74. Vernon Greene l heard on a tape (not live) l got off someone in 75.
  8. I never got down to the Cats, but it would fit in with the time fame from when l 1st knew the record.
  9. Professionals got played in the early days, but did not take off till much much later. I think it was Kev who played it on a tape from March 74 l have or had at one time.
  10. If Richard can't remember playing it, trust me it doesn't mean he didn't. It might not have been even his record, people used to bring records for him to play and if they sounded all right on the headphones, he would give them a spin.
  11. It fell off same time as Steve's, otherwise ok.
  12. The only reason you know, is because you were in the Doc's at the same time when yours fell off.
  13. Mine was red came in post Oct 73, but a used a pink one before l got mine. Yeah I got one of those Jade Fists on a leather lace, my excuse for getting one, was only 18, daft as a brush and the drugs might have something to do with it, lol.
  14. Yes Levine did play this at Wigan in Nov 73.
  15. Both the one's from Evelyn Thomas, Barbara Pennington & L J Johnson plus the Excitiers stuff, hit the decks in the summer of 75.

  21. Not sure if it the same sales tape, but Eddie Parker "I'm Gone" was on one around that time.
  22. This the same Wigan Council that did so much to save the club back in the day, NOT!!!
  23. Yes. (just seen other posts now)
  24. Not seen any House Martins around where l live for years. There used to be loads of nests on houses when l was still at school. On the plus side this year, a pair of Song Thrushes nested and had chics just the other side of the garden fence. It had been a while before this year, that we have had a Song Thrush in the garden.
