  1. Pete Lawson left a box of records with me to look after, UK Vala Reegan was in there. It was over a year before he came back for em. I never got to the Cats, but there was more than enough going on in the North West 7 days a week at the time.

  5. I remember IL telling me at a midweek venue (Darwin Tiffs.) that Black Wax had the LP WINTER IN AMERICA in stock. So I rang up the next day to order it, on Friday rang in sick got train to London to pick it up. So I lost a day's pay + train fair just to be the 1st to play "The Bottle" it at the Legion. How sad is that?
  6. It must have been some time in 74 because I swapped my spare Imperial Wonders with Rob (modernsoulsucks) for Peigents "Love on a Rampage" I Wonders was a Legion Anthem and we played it from May 74.

  11. Ya Ian the date about right, I think I got it off Neil on one of my Sat morning drives to Walsall. I played it at the Band Club which closed in Jan 77 and I sold it Ginger or Andy at the Spinning Jenny. I later got the blue one from Soul Bowl.

  14. Ya Ian, £15 to £20 record back in the day. Was at a venue 2/3 years when some kid paid £175 for the small 45 boot. I was with Chris Shephard and Alex Jones at the time and we all though W.T.F. Also £500 for a ex soul bowl front page special. But that was than and this is now Dave.

  17. Lots of the big 60s stuff that there 1st played at the Mecca, became Monster Sounds later at Wigan. A lot of The Torch stuff was also played at the Mecca. It's at the Mecca where I heard them, I only went to the Torch once. I went to the Mecca from Oct 71 until the end. Even went when R.S. started N.S. in the Highland Room again in 1980

  23. Let me tell you a funny story about "I GOT THE VIBES" I saw "RIDE OUT THE STORM" Demo on a list which is the a side. So I sent for 10 to sell on , the Demo is single sided Strero/Mono. THE JOKES ON ME P. Austin,s "You didn,t say a word" is like that as well S/M of "Day by day" on Demo. Yours Dave.
