  1. God that's shite, I don't remember it and I was at the Mecca most weeks.
  2. I can't really say anything about P.H. cause I danced too many times to at The Mecca etc. to it
  3. It's hard to pick between the two 80s monsters of pop..sorry soul. Larry Hagman or Bruce Willis?
  4. Never rare too true, but it was popular in our neck of the woods. A great record, yes it is.
  5. I love both versions, by the way.
  6. I am with Rod on this one, I got the C. H. one early 74, the P.H. is a 75 release. Chris Hamilton is one of loads of good records that wasn't rare enough to be played at the big clubs at the time. i.e. Little Jewel, Lenny Williams, Little Archie etc all being played out now, better late than never. All played my me back in the day at the Legion, I might will add.
  7. God that's bad, even the video is bobbins.
  8. Ya it was me, taking the piss. I didn't know that they did "What" as well.
  9. Cheers for that, I have not gone completely mad just yet. I knew he had something to do with it. Dave.
  10. I'm sure I was told it was Ringo Starr, but maybe not.
  11. You did say N.S. tunes Webby. Solf Cell "Tainted Love" Sorry I could not resist, I have just seen it was top 20 and not just the charts, so some of those I already put up might not count.
  12. Trammps "Hold back the Night" Evelyn Thomas "Weakspot" not sure but could be "Doomsday" as well.
  13. Esther Phillips "What a Difference a Day Makes" George (bad) Benson "Supership" Betty Wright "Where is the Love" I think they all made charts?
  14. F**k knows who Mick Martin is? After what they did with "Money" throwing the flying picketts off the balcony (any balcony) the higher the better would be good.
  15. Rod, it's good to see you in top form (yet again) PMSL. Dave.
  16. After a quick listen it does not sound like its the same night later on Little Joe Cook and Ronie McNeir deff 76 new release stuff on there as well. Shit just listened to said track and after huming away to it can't remember what it is.
  17. I had forgot about L.M.R. a great mag, and I liked the cassette tape that came with it.
  18. Jayne, only two sides to the Modern scene..... two-step, soulful-house, x-over, anthems, 80s groove, jazz even have people calling Carstairs, Montclairs etc modern Dave x
  19. It has been on the cards for a while now, it was never the same when it moved from sun's to sat's. Plus the times seem to keep changing on the sat's. Good news about the Hilton and Chapter 8. P.S. The whole radio station went downhill when it changed from Jazz FM to Smooth FM (IMHP).
  20. Hi Brian, good to hear from you, trust you are keeping well. Dave.
  21. Hi Nick, no I never went there. I asked about it in the William Powell thread, because it did not ring any bells at all. It sounds like it was a good night out. Dave.
  22. At last someone else who remembers Richard starting up the Mecca again. I was begining to think I had dreamed it.
  23. No idea if you have spelt it right, but ya I used to go. I used to mate around with Ian Gillabrand back than, there was a big posse of girls from Accrington that used to go. P.S. Thanks for the CD at Gisburn.
