  1. Like Jaco, not a nighter but the Mecca, "The Next In Line" Oct 71.
  2. Some nice ones here.
  3. Surely UK Warner Brothers, not Buddah.
  4. l always liked the intro, give the record a bit of a unique feel to it. It was popular at various mid week venues around East Lancs in the early 70's. Also very easy to find copies back then, like you said Steve not rare, so no surprise you where given a copy. Yours Dave T.
  5. No, what is it? Eddie
  6. My thoughts as well. £43.50, more like £4.50.
  7. As others have said the Decca copies were played back in 72. The MCA were done towards the end of the 70's, due to demand. Every Decca copy that l have heard sounds distorted, but in a club it doesn't sound as bad as it does at home. Quick question do the MCA copies play normally?
  8. l had no idea, mind you it was 73/74 when l was playing them off LP. No internet in them days, and l stopped collecting back in 1980. It's amazing what has turned up on non US/UK labels over the years. Reguards Dave T.
  9. Marvelettes "Only Your Love Can Save Me" Exciters "Moving Too Slow" Gladys Knight "Ain't You Glad You Choose Love"
  10. Still got the 76, seven LP Set.
  11. Yeah my pick as well.
  12. That was a Mecca cover up title, from 74. I took Freddie Williams to Russ's shop in Wigan, for Russ and Richard to listen to because at the time they didn't know it.
  13. The Pink Copy, says Leonard Jewel, not Len Jewel, so it's looks like someone paid too much.
  14. The blue Terri De reissue pre-dates Wigan, so it was 73, unless it was done twice.
  15. I got a couple of "Cool Off" off him, did a swap with one with Kev Roberts at the Mecca. Also got a Patti Young at the same time, and loads more in the 70's off him and Martin. Saw John at The Wilton, last year, when Ann Sexton was on.
  16. I remember there was at least one 5-a-side game (maybe two) played outside the Spinning Jenny All-Dayer late 70's. Can't remember who played but a think Colin Curtis had something to do with it. It was the week that Jonathan had bought Frank Wilson, that was the big talk between the record collectors at the time.
  17. Marc Evans & Gregory Porter to name just two.
  18. The seller;s other records kind of gives it away, Disco Demands etc.
  19. Now that is nice, l never got my hands on a WD in my collecting days. It would have looked nice next to "Let's Get Into Something"
  20. Nice WD with sticker on.
  21. In the mid 70's there were copies around for a round a fiver, and in 1980 a let one go in a job lot of 70's at 50p each. Yours (wiping away the tears) D.T. lol.
  22. They came from Soul Bowl, circa 74 so John Anderson is your man to ask. As far as l know it is the 2nd part of question one, if you know what l mean? lol. Dave T.
  23. Thanks Eddie for posting Bernie's letter. l just hope that in the future the soul night in his memory does happen. Our thoughts and love go out to Bernie & Family at this very sad time. Dave & Lou.xxxx
  24. I can't remember Colin DJing there, but he could have done. You are right about Sunday nights with Ian Levine on the decks, also a midweek night with Richard Searling on the decks.
  25. Heavy Metal gig or a Punk Rock night. Soul records tend to sink like a lead balloon. Not forgetting the locals might want to kill you, lol.
