  1. I can assure you, plenty of great surprises. We never give the game away at this early stage. In fact we spoke to one female act only tonight who has one of the biggest tracks ever and hasn't been seen by anyone! That's the kind of thing that makes Soultrip special and, it will be again. Totally unique and always surprising! Get booking.
  2. Good to see Luther Ingram's If Its All The Sane To You Babe and Jimmy Soul Clark's Cmon and Be My Sweet Darlin added to the movie soundtrack. Universal as usual screwed up and had no information on Julian Covey. They eventually took my word for it, in terms of ownership!
  3. Aye...Seconded...with Holly St James not far behind
  4. The public have demanded somewhere nice. Detroit isn't, regardless of it's history. And we were there last year as part of the Chicago trip.
  5. The Kings Hall has increased in numbers over the last year since the Modern room closed. They work reasonably well at Weekenders and up to around 3am. It's just not a good fit at a nighter. Not our personal choice but the general consensus among customers and regular niter attendees.
  6. Guys- Can't understand anyone wanting to boot it. I discovered it in 1981, the year of release. Its a small label from North Carolina. A failed Beach music release.

  8. All Nighter attendees do not like Modern interfering. Source: Kings Hall Stoke!

  10. RICO Thompson. They recorded for 10 different labels without much success. Kev

Thanks for the push Ally. I have known Gary for an age. He's one of a few who remains fairly modest about his abilities. I will definitely be using him. He's a 'stand up guy' as De Niro would say! As I said before, this exercise is to make me aware of collectors with DJ ability who can offer a different type of entertainment to All Singing All Dancing Weekenders etc. Cheers Ally.

I host a Dinner type do on the first Thursday of the month. That particular clientele is looking for Hits and laidback stuff, hence the audience have no interest in whether its on vinyl or not. The Bank Holiday planned event is a different one. I have suggested a full vinyl only freestylin' gig. Liverpool is a cosmopolitan city with no real Northern Soul history(as in there are not 100's of do's there week in week out). Hopefully it opens up a fairly dormant territory.

Aye...I know what you mean. Thankfully a few really interesting fellas have put themselves forward, so it looks as if the fresh ideas and new venue, might generate interest in one of the UK's legendary city's.

Wanted Collectors and DJ's of all kinds to help with a Vinyl Freestyling session at a prestigious venue in LIVERPOOL. The owners are friends, so I am helping generate interest in the area. This is not a typical Goldsoul gig full of 'bells n whistles', I am looking for enthusiasts to get on stage and give us a 1 hour mix of interesting stuff. We are not looking for Kings Hall floor filling. If you fancy a day out at the Albert Dock and think you could entertain with Northern, Modern, Latin, R&B and any other sub genre that takes your fancy, either PM me or email. The date is; AUGUST 29th(Sunday) 3-11pm. Looking for around 6 spinners. Cheers, Kev

A couple of promos landed on my doorstep and they're pretty good. 1. I had a fight with love- Greta Bondesson 2. Valarie- Marino Valle The latter being a male version of Amy's hit. Real good! www.wime.se I think they are something to do with Sven Zetterburg.
  19. Sure it's got credibility- Soul Fox collectors may want it! Imagine it filed neatly next to 'Mountain Top Theme' lol
  20. Aye....Quality control got lost on that one!
  21. Errrr.....Do you know my inside leg measurements and tell fortunes too? What do you mean there's only one person this could be down to? Ever heard Milton Wright- I Belong To You? Still have the tapes.... bleedin hell it was 1976 and Soussan had rights to Mirwood and Audio Arts back then, hence the backing tracks. Roy Stewart.....who is he? As for sales figures, how would you know and when did a further vocal of Theres Nothing Else To Say get released on a 45? Talk about re-writing history !

  23. Chico/Mark....Sorry to hijack your banter......but there's an opportunity to decide which was best, this Saturday at Blackpool Tower as COLIN CURTIS battles it out with Richard and myself. All done is the best possible taste!
