Bobby Womack and his full American entourage (inc Altrina Grayson) will be playing a concert prior to the next 3-roomed Soul Night Out at the King Georges Hall in Blackburn on SATURDAY JUNE 25th . As the concert ends the 3 rooms of music start up and as usual runs until 3am. Bobby Womack is a stalwart soul and gospel legend whose resume includes musical contributions across the four decades as a singer, songwriter and guitarist. He has written songs for Wilson Pickett, George Benson, Janis Joplin and dozens of others. A solid guitarist who worked on the Memphis session scene for a period in the Sixties, Womack played on sessions for Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Joe Tex, King Curtis, Dusty Springfield and other soul and R&B artists. In 2010, Womack contributed lyrics and sang on "Stylo" alongside Mos Def, the first single from the third Gorillaz album, Plastic Beach which led to him hitting the road as a special guest accompanying Gorillaz on their full world tour.
