THATS FAIR COMENT BUT JUST DIDANT WANT TO INVITE LOADS OF ARGUMENTS WITH HAVING A DIFERENT POINT OF VIEW , I DIDANT THINK IT WAS WELL ATENDID AT ALL CHRIS BUT THEN AGAIN THESE DAYS WHAT IS WELL ATENDID ?? I ALSO WAS THINKING TO MY SELF WHAT HAD THEY DONE TO THE PLACE COMPARED TO WHAT IT USED TO BE LIKE IN THE 80'S , REGARDING THE ATTENDANCE OR THE VENUE THIS IS NO WAY ANY CRITISISM AGAINST THE PROMOTORS IN ANY WAY I JUST WANT TO MAKE THAT CLEAR ,I WAS JUST DISAPPOINTED THAT MORE PEOPLE DID NOT ATTEND THATS ALL , BUT THATS THE NORTHERN SOUL SCENE IN IT' regards paul

i agree with only a small bit of what you say ' but if you change it around get rid of this and get rid of that then its not special any more is it ??,its just another every day sound that is like so mutch of the stuff thats filling the charts and like all that stuff it will be gone and forgotten the colecting of records and labels and so on is what is called the northern soul scene ring a bell ??? am afraid i see this stuff all the time now it apears on soul source very angry and opinionated but who exactly are you talking about because in all my years on this scene i have never ever seen or heard of people you decribe ??who exactly are you talking about ????? fogeys on the dance floor???? i was at maxims i did not see many 25 year olds ??? who are the mystery horible people that hate young people and want to keep the soul scene to themselves ??? not only that but where are all these teribley hard done to young people that are so hated ???? aniway dont hold back let it all out lol , am afraid i would be in my eliment as a promotor if loads of young people tuned up and i dont know any body that would act the way you describe ??

got to disagree with that one , lots of peeps i know canot be botherd any more with nighters due to going to nighters for donkys years age and good nights gone by take there toll and and a lot of peeps are content to go to a good well atendid club and i got to admit some of the clubs have far more people than the nighters like a lot of other people i stil get to 6 or 7 a year and they tend to be the same old faces most of the time i think some people havent a clue what the old real big nighters used to have in atendence maxims in wigan for example last wk was awfull to say the least and yet people on here are saying how well atendid and how good it was they must be triping or somthing ,yep its the same old story its stil the old uns keeping it all going no mater what people say , yes there is some young blood but compared to when we where all young its a drop in the sea , i think if it wasant for burnley i would not bother going to a nighter again , hey its just an opinion dont nail me for it

yes sean couldent agree more mate but my mate just down the rd from me at the legion has been doing it now for at least a year have a look at the dj's play list for the night 'after my do it is incredible but yet same old problem atendance geting low he is thinking of teaming up with me and doing a big venue and just go for the right mix rather than sticking with the rare stuff that way we try and keep the two camps happy so with my brains and his records lol haaaaa cheers sean see yer soon mate

ahh yes in deed i played moving to slow at my do in southport the other week nearly pips blowing up my mind i think ??? ,but am happy to say i got the rca 45 as well and started to play it again after hearing it for the first time in donkys years at blackpool tower wkender this year got mixed feedback from the floor , i can hear it now stomping away in mr Mms ahh the momorys what a tune yet another tune left on the shelf !

i think if you take a look at what i wrote its very diferent to your interpretation ? did i say i see the northern soul scene as an exclusive club for 40 -65 year olds ? listen prick if you dont like what i wrote try and come back with somthing that is relevent to what i actually wrote and not your twisted interpretation also who mentiond peoples backgrounds or age ? stick to fact not presumption , also its like comunicating with harry f,,in potter with all the stupid cartoon faces have you progressd out of short pants yet!!!! very disappointing potter !

i hapen to be one of the 40 to 50 year olds mate and i take a real offence wit this shi,, you have come out with in fact its all i ever hear from the few younger people who have just apeard on this scene the clubs you have mentiond i have visited and indeed enjoyed the night i agree with some of what you say but i find this image you discribe is not true any more we have loads of clubs playing loads of diferent stuff i dont jig about to tunes i heard 30 years ago my ears are open to loads of exiting stuff i go to lowtons dda room i also go to burnley these clubs along with many others are all playing exiting and diferent tunes i think you will find that nearly all of the people that atend are my age and dance all night to anything and everything weather they know it or not' to me these clubs and the scene is as exiting as it was 32 years ago but the old values and tradition regarding commercialism is what made northern soul very special and you have been involved how long?? what am trying to tel you is that we went through all this lets be populer stage in the late 70s tv top of the pops, we became a laughing stock the butt of many many jokes, you go on to say "northern soul for want of a beter word ?? exactly my point soon as you start to mention chart music and so on you lost all rispect and it aint northern soul scene any more and when it becomes so pouler every tom dick and harry start to fill your club it will become like any other night club disco full of piss heads so yeah its an extreme view but so is yours ,and i think you will find dave godin gave the name northern because at the time it was only played up here and it stayed that way for years and years the way your talking mate you would think its the other way round
