ok yes i do understand exactly where your coming from i know that there aint the punters to go around but for me and many others for many diferent reasons i do not wish to go miles and miles away any more, i have atendid my fair share of nighters over the last 35 years and where i live there aint much choice in progresive music apart from one club just down the rd . and i can say with my hand on my heart heardly any body who atends my club traval even 25miles away some not all , like me they have done there fair share of nighters over the years and are geting on .and also like me some have health isuess work all kinds of things . on the other hand i have had people travel from miles away actuly people that go to lifeline( but not on the night) having mentiond all this i also know locals that dont ever come to local nights they dont suport us but go to nighters every month even when there aint nothing on that clash but i dont go moaning about them its there choice & i think its unfair to blame all the smaller clubs because people no longer want to go up and down the country any more . may be in some cases yeah but not round our way .most of the people i know who go to big nighters go to the nighter no mater what club is open on the same night they dont give a shit about any little club give me a brake , but aniway i will agree to disagree regards paul ps as for dj's i am just a bloke who plays records to people that like to hear them at 51 i have got no desire to proove anything to myeslf or others i have beter things to do in life .not every one wants to be a big name dj or record colector in fact i no longer want to be apart of "the scene "

QUOAT- If all these people running their "something different" soul night packed in and attended your all nighter instead, it may not add hundreds to the door but enough to allow you to have more budget to spend. To me this is the real cost of the proliferation of these soul nights, its killing the scene not protecting it, no matter what people think or want to tell themselves. May sound brutal but to me its true and people who think otherwise are kidding themselves. most of this is exactly what i was trying to say on a diferent page ............ and thats the same reason i mentiond having mixed feelings . i couldent agree more my issues are simple after spending fortunes on records i like the punters to know the diference but its down to them what club they decide to go to, & unlike others on here am not going to keep crying and moaning about it .to listen to the big promotors and dj's that blame monthly soul nights all the time get over it people are geting old and for whatever reason's cant be botherd to go to yet another big do miles away .weather you like it or not its a fact . at my place i think i can say with my hand on my heart most if not all would not go further than 30 miles and if ther is nothing on they stay at home and watch telly ............i wish it was diferent we play originals all the time but the punters couldent give a flying fig or most of um dont , another thing they tel me is they see the scene now as full of politics & arsholes somthing am begining to agree with and if it gets any worse on here i will be looking for another site

Incorrect, in your assumption. By knowing who you're inviting to play, you know what they're gonna play. I know at least 2 that absolutely f*ckin' DO know. Tony yeah mate and i know as many that absolutely f*ckin dont know but claim they do . also it wasant an assumption it is somthing i know to be 100% true on at least two occasions so the only way i would be incorect would be if i was lying and am not !!so as people have allready stated this thread could have extremely damaging consequences , hang on i just noticed what i first said i stand corected i shuld have included the word (i know *some* )promotors that dont know .

spot on mate amazing how did i not know there was going to be some masive list of clubs claiming to play originals only er? .........so all these promotors at these clubs know for sure that every record being played is an original ?? i think not in fact i know for f ... sure they dont. i canot see the point of all this as most people around our way know who plays boots and who dosent and its the same with the clubs there are 3 clubs within 30 miles of my club that play boots and i mean 99% and cds , but yet they do extremly well playing all the casino boots and there punters couldent give a monkeys what they are played on , on the other hand there are 3 clubs including my own that play fresh original tunes or a beter word quality soul . two of us do ok we get around 70 to 100 every month sorry to say the other dont do to well , we could only dream of the numbers that pressings are us get up the rd get in. but its not like we all dont know ?its back to the grate n soul divide again and dont we all get fed up with that one ? all i wish is that some of the self apointed original soul gods come and suport there own instead all this me me me buisnes again .after all we suport them . without naming the big venues we all go to . it would be very nice indeed if for once some of them well known peeps could put there money where there f... big gobs are and suport the little clubs that do play quality music as well as being original ,and another thing lol the worst thing in the world for me is having people surounding my decks and my record box i have some expensive tunes in my box and i do not like people rummaging through my box the way i see it is i wouldent dream of doing that to others and somthing that shouldent be encouraged . i also agree that those big wigan tunes where and stil are briliant but due to the pressings they have been murderd its a crying shame also i have moved on and i also like the past i have mixed feelings about all this its like being in nazi germany
